Just switched over from BT to TalkTalk. My phone line was out of action for 4 hours before I called talktalk who told me everything would be resolved before midnight that night.
9am the next morning called TalkTalk who told me I will have to wait 48 hours until I can get an update on the issue. That means 72 hours without a phone line and a very poor (128kbps) broadband. In my opinion TalkTalk offer very poor customer service (from an Indian based call center) - it sounds like they are ready parrot fashion from a script and just keep repeating it if the can't / won't answer the questions.
I can't really comment any further about their actual phone service as I haven't been able to make any calls.
