Talk Mobile

I decided to signup to talk talk and their most competitive (in comparison to other mobile providers) monthly rolling free minutes price plan.

The deal was you got 300 minutes every month.

Seems simple and straight forward enough, however, it was too good to be true.

The problem is, talk talk set a certain billing date and any inclusive minutes you get are pro-rata'd to that billing date, so any free minutes offered aren't valid for a month from when you get the sim card, but from the date at which their billing date starts.

Here's an example.

You get your SIM on the 10th of January, and it offers you 300 minutes. YOU CAN'T USE those 300 minutes in their entirety straight away because they might set your billing date to the 20th of January. The 300 minutes are what you get from that billing date onwards. For the 10 days you have this sim card up until that billing date, they only give you a pro-ratad amount of minutes... i.e. 300/30 x 10 i.e. 100 minutes.

You go over that, and you'll pay through the nose.
