the office, the 8124N A3 color laser is packed with all the features to satisfy the most demanding users. The 8124N is "quick off the mark", with a first page print time of just 10 seconds, and that's hard to beat. PCL5e/6 and HPGL industry standard emulations are ideal for all general office work such as Word processing, Spreadsheets, Graphs, Presentations and even CAD/CAM. Out of the box the 8124N will plug in and go, with enough memory onboard for even the most taxing print jobs. In just minutes the 8124N will deliver the highest quality color or mono documents, its high capacity toners giving lowest overall running costs. As you would expect from TallyGenicom, network connectivity is standard on all models, simple to set-up and administer via its own embedded web server, even Job Logging and consumables status can be viewed online. With A3+ and A4 paper support and a range of paper handling options including Duplex, the 8124N becomes the most versatile color print station. With low running costs in both Color and Mono, why replace the old A3 mono laser with another mono printer when you can simply upgrade to full color with the TallyGenicom 8124N. If your requirement is for high quality color proofs, double sided newsletter or even marketing material then look no further. True Adobe PostScript level 3 will ensure complete color matching within your application and ICC/ICM profile support will ensure complete color consistency between other color products.Main Specification:Product DescriptionTallyGenicom 8124ND - printer - colour - laserPrinter TypeWorkgroup printer - laser - colourDimensions (WxDxH)67.8 cm x 63.1 cm x 47.3 cmWeight59.4 kgMax Media Size (Standard)A3, LedgerMax Media Size (Custom)305 mm x 1200 mmPrint SpeedUp to 24 ppm - B/W - A4 (210 x 297 mm) Up to 24 ppm - colour - A4 (210 x 297 mm) Up to 13 ppm - B/W - A3 (297 x 420 mm) Up to 13 ppm - colour - A3 (297 x 420 mm)Max Resolution ( B&W )1200 dpi x 1200 dpiMax Resolution ( Colour )1200 dpi x 1200 dpiDuplex PrintoutDuplexInterfaceParallel, USB, Ethernet 10/100Base-TXProcessorPowerPC 603e 350 MHzRAM Installed ( Max )384 MB ( 640 MB )Language SimulationPCL 5E, PostScript 3, PCL 6, HP GL/2Media TypeEnvelopes, transparencies, labels, plain paper, banners, heavy-weight paper, recycled paperTotal Media Capacity680 sheetsMedia Handling500-sheet input tray, 180-sheet multipurpose trayMonthly Duty Cycle80000 pagesNetworkingPrint server - Ethernet, Fast Ethernet - internalPrinter FeaturesSingle Pass Colour Digital technologyPowerAC 230VSystem RequirementsMicrosoft Windows NT 4.0, Apple MacOS 8.6 or later, Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XPManufacturer Warranty2 years warranty Laser Colour

Advantages: Purchase price, total cost of ownership, quality Disadvantages: Paper jams
...Thanks in advance for reading this review of the Tally 8006e colourlaser printer.
This is the first colourlaser printer I have had to use regularly and without spoiling my overview that I will put at the end of the review, I am seriously impressed. The quality is superb and the value for money I believe to be good also.
We purchased our Tally 8006e to replace a Hewlett Packard networked inkjet printer (2500) that was proving unreliable on the network and expensive in ink. A little research showed that the cost per page jumps down quite significantly when using a colourlaser printer. To help you fully appreciate this printer I will break down the individual elements that may be of use when purchasing.
COSTS
This printer cost us £649.99. This for a colourlaser printer puts it firmly at the budget end of the market. There are only...

Advantages: Attractive, quiet, very fast Disadvantages: Expensive, unreliable, ridiculous pricing structure for consumables that fail
...be permitted to expect the printer to function effectively on a small network. Unfortunately, the Tally 8008 has an array of consumable parts, all hideously expensive, and no means of reliably informing you how long it will be before the next part is required. My solution for this was to buy in a full complement of the most likely consumables to be required. We therefore have an entire cupboard filled with expensive printer consumables and that still only amounts to one of each item. That is, one of each of the four colours of cartridges. At £115 each this amounts to over £450 worth of ink sat on the shelf. Now, put that alongside the purchase cost of the printer and the total cost of ownership begins to look a little jaded. Added to this we also keep in stock a fuser cleaner roller and a bottle of fuser oil. This is an additional fifty pounds worth...

Advantages: Good quality pictures, reasonably fast Disadvantages: Heavy, bulky and very expensive
...This product was my first purchase of a colourlaser printer, which was bought for my office at work. The price was £899. Not the cheapest but I was assured by the supplier that the quality was very good.
Indeed the quality is good. I'm very impressed by the high standard of prints, both colour and mono. It performs particularly well on photographs, which are reproduced in excellent quality with an almost glossy finish.
The printer comes with 64Mb of onboard memory as standard, which is perfect it would seem. The printer is certainly fast, whipping out colour prints fairly quickly.
Sadly, despite its speed and quality, this printer has some fairly big disadvantages. Firstly there is no auto duplex, which costs extra. The printer also seems to struggle with all but plain copier paper, which is a pity when you want colour pics...
