Having said all this, it was a great computer in its day, running fast enough, using the internet, with a good Active matrix screen and the best keyboard that I have ever used (on any computer -lap or desk). There was a good side to the small screen - small footprint. Reliability was also excellent. Its predecessor, the 5300, while being in some respects more advanced, was unreliable. ...Olitec, this company make excellent serial modems, No matter what the others say, I’ve not had a single problem with it, it always runs at 52000bps or higher and the download speeds on most ISP’s are usually 6k/s – 9k/s. Although on the Olitec Speedcom 2000 external series the case looks a bit blocky, what’s inside the case is all that matters. On the front cover you have Four lights: On Ll TD RD On, obviously tells you its on, Ll means its connected to a dialup server, TD means its sending data (when flashing) and RD means its receiving data (when flashing).
