Menacing its way from the shelf is the predominantly black plastic bottle of Tango. The £1.19 label on the two litre size instantly attracts my attention, since most similar drinks of this volume are priced around the £1.50 mark.
So what is Tango? It is a carbonated fruit drink, in this instance in its orange variety. It even has 8% real orange fruit inside, representing a vitamin C intake for everyone participating in the consumption of a bottle.
Now maybe it’s just me, but Tango seems to have a very Nineties feel to it. Ever since the “you know when you’ve been Tangoed” adverts, and the subsequent success, this drink has appeared to diminish in quantities on the shelves. The resurgence of Fanta seems to have hit Tango hard, affecting sales, and now it is not often I have the chance to buy this. Old skool drink? Indeed… let’s get drinking!
The first sip tastes lovely, and fairly similar to real oranges. There is no illusion that the oranges are fresh however. The taste lingers for about a minute after drinking, sweet on the tongue and definitely demanding a subsequent sampling. It is at this stage where I am tempted to take a sniff of the smell, to see how it compares to the taste. The smell is a little weaker than the taste, although very much consistent with the orange fruit theme. You can actually smell the carbonation, in other words, you can sense the bubbles with your nose just from inhaling above your glass or bottle.
Comparing with other orange-flavoured carbonated soft drinks that are available to me, this is more carbonated than Orangina although it contains no discernible orange pieces and seems to be further away from the concept of a real orange drink. Fanta seems to be more widely available as well as more fashionable and trendy, without really being different from Tango in terms of taste and satisfaction. The big difference between these two will be most noticed in your wallet, with Fanta’s specially-designed bottles costing the consumer an extra 25% for the same amount of sparkling orange.
It retains its sparkle reasonably well, and can be opened a number of times before it will not fizz upon unscrewing the cap. If you are having a party or a number of people are drinking, then it can all be drunk within an hour without difficulty. This is also available in 500ml bottles and 330ml cans, for approximately 80p and 55p respectively.
This drink contains sugars and sweeteners, so children and people sensitive to sugar should drink this in moderation. Also on the guest list is E1450, further reducing its universal appeal. What’s more, artificial colouring is included, which gives the drink its distinctive orange colour.
I find this drink to be somewhat refreshing, however as with many carbonated soft drinks, there are better things to re-hydrate with. Ideally I would recommend this to be enjoyed with a meal, especially fast food. Advantages: Funky can design. Not as bad as I thought it would be. Disadvantages: Not as nice as I hoped it would be. Saccharin aftertaste.
…both literally and figuratively. You see, I am just a wee way away from orange. And, here in front of me is a can of TANGO – and ‘you know when you’ve been Banquoed’ – oops, I meant ‘Tangoed’. (Joke – when I was studying Macbeth in university, second time around, I was discussing the play with a friend, and we were talking about Banquo’s ghost…and my friend came up with that line. ... ...Understand, I don’t usually drink Tango. I don’t really like orange soda. But, in the name of all things orange, and, of course, helpfulness to the consumer, I have acquired a can of Tango. The things I do for you…

Advantages: Tastes very nice, gives your tongue a tingling sensation when you drink it, very fizzy Disadvantages: Not very good for you, can be expensive in some place
~Introduction~
As some of you may or may not know, I recently posted a review of the Tango television advertisements, which I think went down pretty well. I have chosen to review orange Tango, after buying a bottle of it yesterday, for the first time in a long while. I had just had an hour of badminton for my PE lesson at school and I was pretty thirsty afterwards. So, money in hand I marched up to the vending machine to find something of a product ... ...Fanta to Pepsi and Tango. Having memories of Apple Tango tasting like cider and being bored of Coke and Pepsi, I punched in the code E4 and a bottle of orange Tango was released.
~Taste~
The taste of orange Tango is one that leaves you pretty satisfied. The flavour is pretty sharp and tangy; you really feel the orange flavour tingle on your tongue. It is much more noticeable than orange Fanta. It does resemble the taste of a tangerine pretty accurately ...

A review on regular Orange Tango, they do a diet version as well.
I was lured to go into _Instore_ again this week. By lured I mean that my son dragged me in because of the offers on the drinks! Anyway, The _Tango_ orange caught my eye. I usually go for the apple, but I'll try anything once (Well, perhaps not anything!). I haven't actually had one of these for several years and I began to wonder why. Was because I wasn't impressed? I couldn't remember ... ...Tango was launched by Corona Soft Drinks in 1950.

Advantages: Strong container. Disadvantages: The taste of sweetners is overpowering.
Yippee....!!! I've been tango'ed and what a more fitting way to celebrate this momentous occasion than by writing an op on the legendary drink itself.
I am sure you are aware of the contraversial advertizing campaign that brought Tango to the tip of everyone's tongues...Who can forget that bright orange guy in the rather large orange nappy running around the streets slapping unsuspecting tango drinkers around the face.
Of course there was an uproar ... ...irate parents banged on the door to complain that little Jimmy had just Tango'ed the girl next door. From this they went on to the next campaign...Still the orange man, but this time he planted a smacking great kiss on the mouth of unsuspecting tango drinkers. Great advertising campaigns that made Tango a household name.
It seems that Tango has a new campaign on the go....I just popped onto their web site and they have a really funny sniffers code ...

Advantages: Refrshing, Tasty, Sparkling. Disadvantages: Full of Sugar.
Ok, so we know the adverts. A bloke running around the streets, totally orange, only one person can see him, and you know when he's been tangoed... cos he gets a massive kiss on the lips.... Nice. LOL.
Now me, if that was someone like...........Jo Guest. Then i would be there with me arms wide opened LOL. But if that bloke ever came up to me, i would not look like i was totally shocked, i would be legging it down the street yelling as loud as i ... ...this to you for the first time you want to buy one, because it makes you laugh, and you think shall i try it, and you do, and you really do like it. But what is it about the drink itself that is so nice????.
Well the first thing you notice is the bright colours of the bottle. I am going to give my opinion on the 2 Litre Bottle of Tango.
The bottle itself is of a orangy colour plastic, with the label all the way around the middle of the bottle. ...

Advantages: Great Fizzy drink Disadvantages: ummmmm none
forget to put our drinks in a fridge at first or back in the fridge after using, but please do!!!, A cold drink tastes sooooo much better then a warm fizzy drink that feels like its frothing your throat up with warm liquid(yuk).
I tend to go for the 500ml bottle as you can put the lid back on(unlike with cans). The bottle design is wacky, A bold black bottle with what looks like an exsplosion of an orange on the front, and the one I bought has a price stamped in it at 65p, which isn't bad compared to the prices of cans now.
OrangeTango has 8% orange fruit, and is made by Britvicsoftdrinks LTD. They also have a website for us all to checkout on www.tango.com
so go on, go and get TANGO-ED!!!
Have also seen the 500ml bottle in Apple and Tropical. ...
