I brought my set of tannoys 15 months ago and, at the time,they cost £300.Now,with a little searching around,they can be obtained for under £200.
What you get in the box is five satellite speakers(two front,two rear and a centre speaker) plus a seperate powered subwoofer.
You also get wall mounted supports for the two front and two rear speakers and all the speaker cables(i changed the cables to 79 stand q.e.d. speaker cable to improve the sound).
Setting up the system is relatively easy:you just need an electric drill for the the wall mounted stands and once fitted,you just connect the cables to your home cinema amp. Easy!!
Once you have connected everything,it is time to try out the system. My first reaction and i am sure yours will be the same was one of complete disbelief!! The sound quality for such small speakers is extremely good with high quality bass and treble. The subwoofer really helps with adjustable output and the sound levels can go really high.
The speakers are finished in silver and are only approx. 6"(15cm.)high. The subwoofer is much larger at approx.20"(50cm.)high. With action films,these speakers are stunningly good for their small size and even now,still surprise me with their ability,both musically and with vocals and effects.
The sensitivity of the speakers is quite high,which makes them easy to drive. Give them a try, i am certain you will not be disappointed!!
In closing, i would suggest that the buyer replaces the centre speaker with something a little better. Although there is nothing wrong with the centre speaker, a larger speaker would improve the sound quality on, let's face it, the most important speaker in the system(the dialogue channel).
Tannoy do in fact make a centre speaker for about £100, although if you have plenty of available cash, there is also the castle centre speaker for £250. Enjoy!!!

I dont really know much about this kind of thing, but your review certainly has given me food for thought, been thinking of buying something like this for a while, so I shall take myself off and look into your recommendation thanks :)
