Targus Back To School 2007

Advantages: Fast (with memory upgrade), good monitor
Disadvantages: Lousy battery, not robust enough for travel use. heavy

...a month. 6 months after we got it, it went completely dead (during DVD playback). We had it fixed at the retailer, and got it back 3 weeks later! We were told we could not loan another laptop in the meantime, and this of course happened a week before I was to fly abroad to attend a congress. A year later the battery gave completely up. It had happend gradually with the battery life decreasing ever so slowly during it's lifetime. We carried the laptop in a Targus laptop-bag, but somewhere along the way the casing cracked, which surprised me. Finally the mointor disconnected (went black), and would only connect when angled precicely right. Needless to say, we will not be buying a Fujistu-Siemens laptop again anytime soon.... Read review

...************************Intro***************************** After trudging through too many airports with my trusty but cumbersome Dell laptop case I decided I wanted an easier life. All those people running past me with their laptop backpacks which were easier to carry made me a little jealous, so I decided to do something about it. I took a look at the range of laptop backpacks available in the market and believe me there is a lot of choice. After excluding all of the ones that were designed by three -year olds I decided on a couple of bags from Targus which would suit my Dell 15.4" laptop. Today (April 07 2006), you'll see that you can get this from exciteit.co.uk for £10.85 inc VAT, which is not bad considering that buying it from the Targus website would set you back £13.00 ex. VAT ! Overall, this is a really usefull addition to my work bag, and my only disappointment is that at a recent conference, I found someone giving an almost identical item away as a promotional toy, so now I have two and could have saved myself a few quid !
