This little unit is extremely helpful. It is a little black box that can easily fit into your laptop case with your laptop. It requires two AA batteries to work, and is extremely loud if tampered with. It has many features which can help you make sure that your laptop will be secure.
On the top it has a four digit combination, and a meter length cable. This cable is long enough to be wrapped around a radiator or fixed table several times then to go through the locking mechanism which locks into the laptop. It has a Kensington lock which is the industry standard in laptop security.
The unit has a button at the bottom which when pressed and held activates the movement alarm. Once this has been done, a red light flashes. If the unit gets moved, the alarm gives off a small beep to warn that the box has been moved. If the box gets ...

On a recent foray abroad, I decided that it was about time I started locking my trusty holdall.. just because it has served me well for about 20years, doesn?t mean that it will always remain tightly shut when I get it off that carousel.
So, needing something simple, and not with a key, I settled on the combinationlock. I realised early on that I would lose a key, or put it into the bag for safe keeping, but realised that I could probably remember numbers.

I bought the Targus Ultra Mini 4-Port USB Hub as I have more USB items than USB sockets on my laptop docking station.
Its compact dimensions (width 9.5 cm, depth 4 cm, height 1.5 cm, weight 40 g)and included USB connection cable allow it to fit anywhere on the desk, and its four USB 2.0 ports (480Mbps data transfer) allow rapid connection to all sorts of peripherals. It's also backward compatible with older USB 1.1 devices, and Apple devices I believe, too.
Installation (with Windows XP SP2) is a doddle, with no drivers aor anything to install, just plug it in, wait a few seconds while Windows does its stuff, and we're off.
