...After a lot of researching, I just got a Trust Retractable Optical Mini Pink Mouse for my new Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop. The mouse looks great!!! The colour is lovely! It is small but a very good size for a laptop mouse! It has a very comfortable feel when using it, the scroll is good. It doesnt need any mouse mat. I just use it on the inside surface of the laptop and it works fantastically! It is very light, and it doesnt need any batteries, just plug the usb side into the laptop and it works straight away. It would have been even better if it can be used wirelessly as well! but for £10 it is good value and great product! It matches any pink laptop amazingly....

Advantages: Simple straight forward remote operation in Powerpoint mode. Built in Laser pointer. Disadvantages: Restricted functions and speed in Mouse Mode, no mode indicator
...The TargusNotebook Presenter is a no-frills device that 'does what it says on the can'.
I use Powerpoint extensively for training small groups of up to 20 people in a classroom setting. Standing always at the 'front of the class' and having to stay close to the laptop are often a restriction on movement and interaction with my customers.
The Notebook Presenter lets me stand away from the laptop and screen. I can now move freely among my audience, control the presentation and access other applications when I need to. The built in laser pointer lets me point out aspects of each slide without standing in the projector beam to wave my hands at the screen.
The small and light hand held controller provides 2 button mouse, next slide, last slide and pointer functions. This talks wirelessly to a small receiver that plugs into a USB prort...

...I bought this Targus Mini Optical Retractable Mouse Mouse as I was sick of fiddling about with my laptop's trackpad and/or "nipple" mouse button when trying to demo software at work, and wanted to avoid a) unplugging my mouse from the docking station, and b) filling up my bag any more than necessary...
It's really small (5.0 x 1.6 x 8.3 inches, weight: 3.2 ounces) so takes up almost no space in my bag, and although it's great on a full size table/desk, it's just as easy to use in a small work space or even on a small airplane tray.
The Mini Optical Mouse is "only" USB 1.1, but that allows "plug and play" connection with USB sockets on Windows 98/Me/2000/XP and Macintosh OS, I believe. Just plug it in, wait a moment while Windows does its "Found New Hardware" stuff, and you're off ! No drivers to install or anything.
