I got this to go with my acer n30 PDA (have a look at my review if your thinking of getting a new PDA, I would recommend an acer n30 to anyone) and was actually a little dissapointed. There's no mention of the fact that the IR (infrared) input on some devices just won't match up with the targus. It has a swiveling stick with the IR projector on one end but it has limited range in movement and won't actually turn to point at my PDA's IR port. I had to prop it up with book and things just to get it in the right possition. After I did though it worked perfectly and the keypad is easier on the fingers than a standard PC keyboard. I actually chose using my PDA and the targus to write essays instead of using the university PCs, so that'll give you an idea of how comfortable it is to use.
There's not much that I can put in the way of technical details. It has a cursor controller in the same place that the arrow keys are in a normal keyboard, however I would honestly have rather had the arrow keys (how often does anyone use the mouse when they're typing up a report etc.?). It is handy though, that you don't have to always feel forced to revert to the stylus on your PDA. I think the cursor control on the targus must just take some getting used to, which I haven't bothered to do. In fact I tend to type with the stylus in my hand whenever I'm using it. So maybe the stylus controller isn't as bad as all that and it's simply the case that I'm just a bit too lazy to learn.
The battery life is excellent, I've been using it for a couple of years now and still not had to change the battery and it really is a pretty compact peice of equipment, it fits in my pocket (I do have a rather large coat pocket though). I would recommend it but if you have the option of bluetooth I'd pay the extra £10 or £20 just to save having to deal with lining up the IR ports (I tried to save money but regret it now because of the lack of convenience). On the plus side it is very sturdy and can take a fair bit of punishment thanks to the matal pane on the casing. If you've got any questions get in otuch and I'll do my best to help. Hope this review helps, cheers, John
