This guitar is not for a beginner, and would be wasted on someone who just wants to strum chords. It's a melodic guitar, and should be used for playing melody! As much care has been taken on the inside of this guitar as on the outside, and the finish is smooth, even on those hard-to-reach corners inside the guitar.
This particular guitar does not have a fitted pickup, however I use an ebony Mimesis acoustic pickup which is excellent!
The tone of this guitar cannot be surpassed by any Martin or Gibson. It rings clear and true, and is well balanced between the treble and bass strings. I have played it in many a session, and its distinctive tone cuts above all the others. It is truly a guitarist's guitar, a pleasure to use. The action is just high enough to give good projection, yet low enough to make playing fast and easy.
While a little pricy for anyone but the serious guitarist, this guitar is however much cheaper than the nearest rivals from Martin or Gibson. As a bonus it comes in an extremely heavy Taylor hard case - made of 5-ply wood, which will withstand even a motorbike falling on it. (Tried and tested, lol).

I wouldn't disagree!
