...is 2 evening classes a week - Tuesday and Thursday. Others in part time study choose from lunchtime Tuesday until 8.30pm. The evening’s suit me better and l do not have to make time up at work.
The course fees cost approximately 850 pounds on top of which you will have to pay for books. The course also consists of a residential, which is additional too.
The course on completion allows entry in to the Chartered Institute of Secretaries - but fees are up wards of 500 pounds - some companies may pay this for you.

...I've just completed my first year at the University of Hull after decided right at the last minute that I wanted to go to University. Right from the minute I phoned them to ask them if they had places, they were extremely friendly and unbelievably helpful - I received several phone calls from the languages department.
On arriving at the Lawns (the main halls of residence), there were loads of people everywhere guiding you to get your key and then to your hall and block. Aside from the Lawns (about 3 miles from University), there is also the option of staying in student houses, the Taylor Court flats (right next to the University) and traditional halls. Advantages: Describes and analyses several theories for case study, interesting ideas, just my thesis topic Disadvantages: Theories analysed are dated now
...to democracy, though they may inspire recent ‘Communitarians’ like Michael Sandel and Charles Taylor). Still, while it wasn’t primarily my interest, anyone looking at the historical development of liberal/democratic thought through the 19th and early 20th century will be well served.
For my purposes, the more useful part was the second section of the book (from about pp120-166) which teased out themes and problems behind majority rule, using the previous case studies as examples. Here Berg moves on from criticizing elements of each theory in itself, to putting them all in an analytical framework for comparison (including, for example, on a spectrum according to the place they give to prior consensus); making distinctions for example between government for and by the people, and equality of expression or influence.
