(LBV) PortVintage : 2007Country : PortugalRegion : Porto e DouroABV : 20%About The Drink : Taylor is accepted by most wine authorities to be the greatest of all port shippers, famous especially for its sublime and long-lived Vintage ports, which consistently fetch the highest prices at auction, and for old, distinguished Tawny ports. But Taylor's is also an innovative house, pioneering the successful Late Bottled Vintage style which has been copied by almost every other shipper. Tasting Notes : A deeply coloured, black-purple wine. A huge presence of fruit on the nose; raspberries, damsons, blueberries, plums and even juniper berries. Lovely. Smoothly integrated on entry, with a firm, very masculine midpalate. Tannic, showing plenty of grippy structure, with dense, ripe fruit. Nicely balanced acidity giving a fresh impression in the palate, with lovely texture. Very good for a straight LBV. Gift Packaging : This gift comes elegantly packaged in our hinged wooden gift box, with crinkle shred filling and complimentary personal gift card.

bottle where it will continue to age. Late Bottled Vintage, as the name suggests, is bottled later, remaining in wood between four and six years. During this relatively long period of wood ageing, an LBV matures and settles down - it is ready to drink when bottled, does not need to be decanted and can be served by the glass for several weeks after the cork is drawn.
