Advantages Easy to use, range, choice, low prices, customer focused
Disadvantages I haven't experienced any
She's 15 years old and built like a heavyweight boxer - but I love her very much - and, after having spent 6 months without my car due to financial constraints, I was looking forward to driving her again after I had finally managed to save up for the tax! Expensive brake work meant that I had to declare my car SORN for end of 2007 as I couldn't afford to tax her. Off I went - tax disc in my pocket and keys in my hand - to get her started again. Guess what…dead. Nothing. No life at all! I had left her stood over winter and the battery had had it
Returning to my home in my fiancée's Ford Ka rather glum I thought I'd have a scout about to find battery prices. Here's how it went…Kwik-Fit - £65.99 (fitted) + £1 eco battery disposal.
Halfords - £65.00 (off the shelf)
Local garage - "A Volkswagen what?"
Google search - Many sites to scroll through and came across TAYNA.co.uk the 3rd in the list - hence this review
Tayna mainly use Varta & Numax batteries. I opted for the cheaper Numax brand. It's good to have a choice. Perhaps the reason why KF & Halfords prices are so high is that there is no choice. You go in to the store in a panic or a rush and pay their price for the battery for you car, or you lump it. Or!!! You could look about online and head over to Tayna and choose which battery you want!
Great, now for the bad news - the price. I read on and prepared for the £65 price tag quoted by KF & Halfords. What? No bad news? What do you mean it's only £43.99? Hmm, surely not. Let's refresh to double check I'm on the right battery. Huh!! It's only £43.99? Right, here's where I'm stung with the postage eh? No? Are you being serious it's only going to cost me just over £50 for battery & postage? Okay then…*click*…okay ordered and paid for. I reckon because of the price it'll be a week or so by the time I get this battery - better get a bus ticket for the week. The bus ticket was a waste of money. It arrived next post day!!At first when I happened upon Tayna.co.uk I thought 'There's no way they can provide these batteries for this cheap'. They can, and they do. The site is full of pleased customers providing beaming reviews. Additional to the easy to use and truth-telling website the email correspondence from Tayna was first class. I had 3 emails informing me of every step - one for order placed, one for order received and one for order dispatched.
