...what value for money £100 in 2001 and for a Dolby 5.1 system that was a bargain. The powered sub-woofer amp unit also has 5 surround settings including theatre offering 3 different inputs. supplied with cables to run all the speakers via a clip system, also supplied was a remote control - for volume, input, surround mode etc. The 1000 watts is enough to fill any room with quality surround sound. You can change the volume of the central speaker and the front and rear channels, allowing you to get the balance right for any seating position. I used this setup to my PC and watched movies from DVD which sounded superb, and CD music playback was exceptional. In its day a superb system and fantastic value for money.... Read review

...The Teac 532 cd rom drive is an cd-rom reader that is designed to be fitted internally into a PC. I had this unit in my PC for about 2 years before I decided to upgrade the whole system. I paid about £120 for this drive and at the time 32x read speed was about the industry standard. How times change as now we are looking up to 72x read speeds on cd-rom drives, which make this unit look positively tortoise-like! Specs This cd-rom drive is compatible with operating systems up to Windows 98. It has a 32x read speed and needs to be fitted into a IDE interface inside the computer. The drive measures, (W) 5.75” (H) 1.65” (D) 7.56”. It weighs 2.65lbs. Overall these are the standard measurements for a cd-rom drive, otherwise it wouldn’t fit into your computer! ...My review is on the Atlas Meridian A1100CS, it costs a whopping £1,700, which me being 13 cannot afford but one of my mates dad has one and boy is it fast, it consists of an AMD Athlon 1.1GHz processor joined by 128Mb of for the price entry level memory, and again for the price a below par 30Gb hard disk, the monitor is an no name 19 inch capable of a resolution of 1600 by 1200 at 80Hz, the monitor is average as 21" or 22" monitor cost a bomb! However Atlas makes up for the below par componants by adding a newly released nVidia GeForce 2 Ultra with 64Mb of graphics memory. The PC comes with both a DVD drive (16x read) and an Teac CD-RW (4x Write, 4x Re-Write and 32x read). Atlas has opted to include Windows 98SE rather than Windows ME, this maybe due to a few possible software or hardware conflicts. I cannot comment on their after... Read review
