Advantages: Movies, LiveView, 12.3 mpixels, build quality, excellent lens range Disadvantages: Still quite bulky for casual use. Expensive if that's all you want it for
likely the subject of the photo, and thereby focussing on it, and
b) The best exposure levels for it, hence no more pasty faces at darkened discos. Darkened backgrounds yes, pasty faces no ? well not unless they really are pasty from too many Bacardi Breezers ?
p.s. You don?t have to have this facility turned on and it only works with the LiveView viewfinder.
EXPOSURE MODES
Like most digital SLRs, the D90 allows you as much control as you could ever want from the manual setting of everything, focus, shutter speed and aperture setting included, right through to letting it think for you, choose faces, set exposure readings and choose to use flash when needed. This is controlled by a handy single dial with many positions.
?M? for Manual speaks for itself. You set both the aperture and shutter speed.

Advantages: Sheer good quality honest sound reproduction, and the base woofers for such a small unit are exceptional. Disadvantages: None
I wanted a retro-looking music player for our newly re-furbished kitchen, and went for this in black. I had listened already, and knew it would be good. Particularly special are the bass woofers that give it a much "larger" sound. This probably adds to the overall weight, but when you un-pack it, it feels really solid and well-made. Whilst it's not DAB (I think they are planning this soon if not already), the radio is superb, with even the little thin aerial wire doing a great job with the signal (in my area anyway).
The remote is just the right size and has the necessary functions for operation. The CD player is very accurate and has the most brilliant sound and this in a unit that cost less than £100 pounds. Overall it does a great job, and is a wonderful advertisement for the Teac brand name. ...

Advantages: Excellent picture quality, lots of useful features, well designed controls, great kit lens Disadvantages: More expensive than some other DSLRs, quite big and heavy, limited movie mode
How I made my choice
I recently bought the D90 to upgrade from my Olympus 560UZ bridge camera, so this is my first foray into DSLR photography. Most people starting in DSLR photography will opt for the cheaper D40, or the D60, D70 and D80. I am not particularly rich, and in the end chose the D90 because I didn't want to grow out of the smaller DSLR and have to buy a new body quickly. I have found that the prices of Nikon DSLRs haven't decreased significantly over the last 3 years, so I decided (maybe wrongly) that this option would save me money in the long run. I found that it is very important to go into a shop and hold the camera in your hands before making a choice. All the photography shop assistants said that the Canon series was just as good as the Nikons, but I discounted them because I didn't get on with the feel ...
