Lego Technic Combine Harvester

Advantages: Looks so cool! Fun to assemble
Disadvantages: Don't misplace any pieces!

Me and my boyfriend received this for Christmas from my parents. We tried to make it together doing different parts, but since you have to follow the instructions very carefully and do one step after another this was not really working, so I just had to sit next to my boyfriend and watch while he did it! My mum got this from John Lewis for £49.99 but it is also available from the Lego website for the same price. I have also seen Lego Technic available in Toys'R'Us so it is not hard to get a hold of. Lego Technic looks quite different from the 'normal' Lego that we all know. The parts are smaller than the normal lego bricks. It is like a more 'grown up' lego. The models that you make with it are usually articulated and quite advanced. The model took us around 6 - 7 hours to assemble. Very good for keeping people entertained! I ...

Review of Lego Technic: Combine Harvester

Gotta Love Technics!

Advantages: Build quality.
Disadvantages: Would be good to have a wider pitch range.

This is yet another update to the industry standard direct drive Technics SL1200 turntable. To be honest, this is not massively different to the M3 edition, the most noticeable difference is the white LED light and the anti-skate control (which I never adjust anyway). As with all Technics, this plays records at either 33 or 45 rpm and you have the option to select the speed between -8% and +8%. This turntable also has the 'pitch reset' button which, if pressed, ignores the pitch selected on the fader and plays the record as if at 0%. A nice feature, although I hardly use it. Putting the cartridge and stylus together was a tricky job but these things always are. After doing a fair few over the years I can do it fairly quickly but newcomers should always read the instructions very carefully before attempting it. This is a great looking ...

Review of Technics SL1200 MK5

Technics NOT technical...

Advantages: Everything!
Disadvantages: None

and I had become the very proud owner of a Technics SH-EH750 separates system complete with 5 speaker Dolby Pro Logic surround sound, 5 CD changer, twin cassette deck, full remote control and a whole host of other exciting twiddly bits (well I did after I had parted with 499.95GBP and they had delivered it?). ~Set up~ Now this couldn?t have been simpler although I confess to having nightmares about it before it arrived; bad dreams induced by the fact that my other old system has enough cabling and leads behind it to rewire the house! After I had made the decision that I was going to ?stack? all four components on top of each other as opposed to opting for the ?side by side? look (2 stacks of 2 units placed next to each other), getting the system up and running really couldn?t have been any simpler. Plug in a few ?flat? cables, hook ...
