Technics SL1210MK5

It's the same review as the Technics SL-1200 MK5 because the only difference between the SL-1200 MK5 and SL-1210 MK5 is the colour. The SL-1200 is silver and the SL1210 is black. Not many people realise it. The amount of people I've met who say "yeah...the 1210's are better aren't they!?" and "the 1210's are more powerful". When I was trying to sell 1200's MK2, I had difficulty selling them to 2nd hand stores because the shops were only after 1210's because of this illusion that the 1210 is a better deck With my experience of this turntable I would say it is a very good turntable for the use ... more

The first thing to understand,is that SL1200 and SL1210 are totally same. The only difference between theese two models are their colour, it's the 1200 is silver and the 1210 is black. MK5 is the newest model. Technics is purcased by Panasonic so this is Technics Panasonic Turntable. The technics technology remained in full, the S shaped tonearm remained also, the platters weight remained also, etc... MK5 is improoved, like the antis skating adjustment is 6 grammes. The SL1210MK5 is an easy to use turntabe. As usual the feel of the turntable is perfect. Smooth in delivering mixes and brilliant for scratching. The direct drive feels better than other 1210's and when spinning the record its hard to find a fault with it. The sound is perfect and crystal clear as usual with Technics as long as you have a decent mixer. Use of speed control is simple and when changing theres not a big gap between the two speeds.
