This is the last in the series of the set that I obtained recently and probably my favourite out of the five if I’m honest because its just so easy to wear. My dinky bottle varies slightly from the larger sixes available to buy, but the scent is still the same.
I attempted to do some research into the background of this fragrance, but couldn’t seem to find out all that much about it seeing as Ted Baker, who puts his name to the fragrance seems more into selling clothes on his website (www.tedbaker.co.uk).
I did manage to find out that this fragrance was launched just over 5 years ago now in September of 1999. This is recommended for everyday wear by most websites I visited and is tested on humans as opposed to animals.
My little
bottle only holds 5ml and is quite a standard shape, made from clear glass with a frosted blue pattern round the body with see-through ‘holes’ into the bottle. I’m advised that the bigger versions have a plastic-mat type ‘wrapper’ around them instead of this blue frosting, which my little bottle has and the bottle itself is frosted. You can see from the picture what I mean by the pattern. Ted Baker’s name encircles the bottle just below the neck and above the pattern and it’s all topped off with a silver lid, which pulls off to reveal the Eau de Toilette inside. The perfume itself is clear and its easy to tell how much is in the bottle just by looking.
The woman who wears Ted Baker is said to comprise of layers of personality which also make up this fragrance. Apparently it’s fresh and sparkling on top with warm and sensual undertones. The overall effect is said to be light, fresh and easy to wear but also able to create a lasting impression. Sounds promising…
There are some surprising notes to this fragrance which creates an overall well balanced scent to this perfume:
Top notes: Citrus, Bergamot, Tangerine, Lemon, Apple, Peach and Rum. Heart notes: Jasmine, Freesia, Lily, Ylang-Ylang and Cinnamon. Base notes: Vanilla, Vetiver and Musk.
The scent varies according to the wearer but I find that the smell is quite unique and difficult to describe. I think this is quite a young fragrance in the way that it wouldn’t seem out of place for a teenage to wear, but I don’t think it would be offensive on an older lady either. It’s quite a light fragrance and there are definite floral tones, although nothing definite springs to mind. I can sense the musky tones immediately on my skin and that’s probably why it suits me. It does have a slightly sweeter edge on my skin once it has had the chance to settle for a short while and I can smell what I can only describe as ‘white flowers’ but nothing overpowering or very descript. I can also trace a hint of vanilla, but unless you hold your nose to my wrist you wouldn’t detect it I don’t think.
I think this is the sort of fragrance that you need to check how it smells on you. I was expecting it to have a lot more fruity fragrance given the top notes, but on my skin I can’t detect even the citrus scent much really.
This fragrance only seems to be available as an Eau de Toilette, but it lasts an average of 8 hours on me so it’s as good as most perfumes for staying power.
Boots stock this fragrance, although it is a little expensive for an Eau de Toilette, in my opinion but as it lasts like an average perfume, its probably justified:
I believe that there’s also a Body Mist and a Shower Gel, but I haven’t encountered these myself, although I’m sure they’re not too hard to come by in gift sets and the like, and it is the countdown to Christmas.
It’s not a classic fragrance by any means but it is easy to wear and it goes with anything. It’s no more out of place being worn with the gear you slob out in front of the telly in at home as it is with the outfit you choose for a night out, so a bit of an easygoing all rounder.

Great op! I've had two bottles of Ted Baker perfume. Both where freebies given by hairdresser at Christmas times. In 2003 the freebie I was given was horrid, but in 2004 I got given another Ted Baker freebie and I had a wee squirt and it was gorgeous! Have no idea what the fragrance was - I packaged it up and gave it to my daughter-in-law as a small Xmas prezzie. She loved it. Can't wait for next Xmas to see what Ted Baker freebie I get1 Lou x
