Tefal Actifry

Advantages: Not just for healthy chips.
Disadvantages: 40 minutes to cook chips, but worth the wait.

Yes, it takes forty minutes to cook a kilo of chips but they are delicious and very healthy. You don't have to feel guilty about eating chips, and they are certainly much better for you than chip shop, frozen or oven chips - and much crisper in my experience. I "forgot" to dry my chips before I cooked them - well, I didn't fully read the instructions! They were still crispy outside and fluffy inside. I wasn't too keen on the sweet and sour pork fillet but my husband loved it. My particular favourite, at the moment, is the sausage cassoulet - a lovely filling and nutritious meal without having to wait hours as you would with the conventional recipe. Yes, it is pricey, but I think it's worth the money - well done Tefal. ...

Tefal Actifry

Advantages: Healthy food preparation. Crispy chips
Disadvantages: Price! Length of time to cook compared to normal deep fat fryers

My Tefal ActiFry arrived today and I couldn't wait to try it out. I followed the instructions and made some chips. They were delicious and nice and crispy and my husband asbolutely loved them. The ActiFry is well built and easy to assemble and has a built-in timer. The down side apart from the price is that the chps take 35 to 40 minutes to cook if you want them crisp so may not be for those who are looking for a meal in a hurry. It is important to use good quality potatoes, Maris Piper or King Edwards. Chips must be completely dry before cooking so must be towelled dry with paper towel. I also used a full scoop of sunflower oil in the preparation. It also cooks frozen chips by the same method. It was a bit of a faff getting them out of the pan, but well worth it. There is also a good recipe and menu book included ...

Review of Tefal FZ 7000 Actifry

Tefal Actifry absolutely fantastic indeed

Advantages: Cooks food healthily
Disadvantages: None

I was thinking about buying one of the Tefal Actifrys for sometime about 1 year to be exact. I was not disappointed at all and it is fantastic. You must ensure though that you really rinse the potatoes well to get rid of the starch and not only that dry the potatoes before you add them to the actifry. You only need 1 tablespoon of oil, any oil will do but I prefer a good quality olive oil, the chips turned out perfect, I didn't need to do them for the full 35-40 minutes stated as they were cooked in 30 minutes but I cannot rate this Actifry highly enough. Dietetics departments recommend this too so it must be good. I am well impressed, Don't worry, get one. ...
