Advantages: Well constructed, tap water safe, self cleaning function, Anti calcium filter Disadvantages: slightly heavy
You may recognise this model as the Tefal Ultraglide Diffusion 80. As we have no picture at present, the iron is constructed of white plastic with contrasting jade green transluscent water tank, filler and anti calcification valve. (quite an eyecatcher!)
The soleplate appears to be a cross between coated metal and ceramic.
The iron has all the usual function and controls including thermostat and associated indicator light, for selecting various heat settings. There is an additional "shot of steam" button for removing those stubborn wrinkles and the amount of steam produced by the normal ironing process can also be adjusted to suit conditions. The iron also has a spray button to moisten linen prior to ironing. The water filler tank is transluscent jade green with a clearly visible max fill level. The iron is suitable for tapwater use ...

Advantages: Not just for healthy chips. Disadvantages: 40 minutes to cook chips, but worth the wait.
Yes, it takes forty minutes to cook a kilo of chips but they are delicious and very healthy. You don't have to feel guilty about eating chips, and they are certainly much better for you than chip shop, frozen or oven chips - and much crisper in my experience. I "forgot" to dry my chips before I cooked them - well, I didn't fully read the instructions! They were still crispy outside and fluffy inside. I wasn't too keen on the sweet and sour pork fillet but my husband loved it. My particular favourite, at the moment, is the sausage cassoulet - a lovely filling and nutritious meal without having to wait hours as you would with the conventional recipe. Yes, it is pricey, but I think it's worth the money - well done Tefal. ...
Advantages: Healthy food preparation. Crispy chips Disadvantages: Price! Length of time to cook compared to normal deep fat fryers
My Tefal ActiFry arrived today and I couldn't wait to try it out. I followed the instructions and made some chips. They were delicious and nice and crispy and my husband asbolutely loved them.
The ActiFry is well built and easy to assemble and has a built-in timer.
The down side apart from the price is that the chps take 35 to 40 minutes to cook if you want them crisp so may not be for those who are looking for a meal in a hurry.
It is important to use good quality potatoes, Maris Piper or King Edwards. Chips must be completely dry before cooking so must be towelled dry with paper towel. I also used a full scoop of sunflower oil in the preparation. It also cooks frozen chips by the same method.
It was a bit of a faff getting them out of the pan, but well worth it.
There is also a good recipe and menu book included ...
