My Tefal ActiFry arrived today and I couldn't wait to try it out. I followed the instructions and made some chips. They were delicious and nice and crispy and my husband asbolutely loved them. The ActiFry is well built and easy to assemble and has a built-in timer. The down side apart from the price is that the chps take 35 to 40 minutes to cook if you want them crisp so may not be for those who are looking for a meal in a hurry. It is important to use good quality potatoes, Maris Piper or King Edwards. Chips must be completely dry before cooking so must be towelled dry with paper towel. I also used a full scoop of sunflower oil in the preparation. It also cooks frozen chips by the same method. It was a bit of a faff getting them out of the pan, but well worth it. There is also a good recipe and menu book included for preparation of different types of food (Chicken with Pineapple, Thai-spiced chicken with courgettes, Madagascan Beef, Chilli con carne, Vegetable stir-fry with prawns, etc) as 'chips' are not the only thing it cooks. I have now had the opportunity to try one of the recipes (Sweet & Sour Pork Fillet) and it was delicious and only took 20 minutes to cook (seems like the chips take the longest). There were quite a few ingredients - Pork, onions, Passata, red wine, red wine vinegar, olive oil, apple juice, garlic, cornflour, soft brown sugar, tomato puree, but it was exceedingly easy to prepare and very tasty. The ActiFry is very easy to clean, just release the handle and lift out the non-stick cooking pan. I am really looking forward to trying more of the recipes!
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
Welcome to Ciao and a good start. More info would be helpful on this i.e. does it take up a lot of room, how easy is it to clean, how often do you need to change the oil etc. If you ever update please let me know :-)

Good review but could do with some more info to gain higher ratings. Take a look at other reviews to get an idea of the level of info that is needed to gain higher ratings. ~ Em. x
Advantages: Can make fresh low fat chips and wedges, easy to clean Disadvantages: Bit big so takes up room, takes quite a long time to cook, caught on fire
