I love the chips and wedges (that I made with fresh organic potatoes), and so do the family. It is much cheaper to make your own, once you have bought the product, but takes a longish time to cook - up to 45 mins depending on how much you cook. One kilo of wedges take 45 minutes. Less takes a little less time.
The instructions are easy to follow from the recipe book, I haven't tried any of the interesting recipes in there.
I can't use wheat flour so substituted rice flour for the wedges which also use two tablespoons of oil, and I added spices as per recipe but my own choice of spices.
The actifry is easy to dismantle and clean in the dishwasher and it doesn't smell much when cooking.
However after just 5 uses my actifry caught on fire and it is really lucky I noticed this right away or it could have been very serious, so it is going back to the retailer.
I unplugged it and shut the lid and it went out, but produced a lot of chemical/plastic smelling black smoke which I can still smell in the kitchen, the Actifry spent the night out in the garden!
This is the reason I have given it only one star and not recommended it, will see if I get another that doesn't combust.
