... Our first rice cooker was something of a joke - cheap, small (could only cook 3 portions of rice), white, and covered in pictures of rainbows and koala bears - yes, the rice cooker couldn't have been more camp! But after about 10 months, this decided to give up the ghost and begin leaking ... Read review

...decided to opt for the Tefal RK700015.
Compared to our old rice cooker, the Tefal is a monster of a contraption, capable of cooking rice for 10 people. Fairly big, the size of a large saucepan, it looks pretty stylish in silver and black. It comes in 2 parts, the outer container which contains the heating device and has a smart click-shut lid, and the non-stick pan, which is where the rice goes into and just fits inside the cooker. *Price* We bought ... ...rolling down the side (though Tefal have thoughtfully attached a "dew collector" on the side to prevent this kind of spillage). Give the rice a stir with the black plastic rice spoon included (don't use your own as it will remove the non-stick coating from the pan) and serve! I have been genuinely delighted with the rice we have made using this: it's light, fluffy, slightly sticky, and such a huge improvement on the rather mushy rice I used to make ...

Advantages: Perfect rice every time, Disadvantages: Don't cook 'quick cook' rice in it as it comes out as a sticky mess
...RK700015 also known as the Tefal Electronic Multi Cooker. This is a combined rice cooker, slow cooker and steamer. It is a fairly compact round machine; its dimensions are 29 x 28 x 28 cm (H, W, D) so it doesn't take up much space; about the same as a large saucepan. It has a very large capacity and can cook up to 10 cups of rice which is enough for 10 portions. The Tefal automatically works out the time depending on the amount of rice and water. It also stops the cooking process once all the water has been absorbed and will move into the 'keep warm' stage and the orange LED pops on at this stage. When delaying he start you use the time key to programme the interval you want and then the start key to set it.
Once you are used to its basic operations you can mess about with it a bit ...

Advantages: Handy, easy to store, multifunctional Disadvantages: steaming bowl too small
I've bought this just recently on ebay. i got it at an unbelievable bargain at £5 for a new product but the delivery fees was £ 7.99. I've looked around elsewhere and found out that this would cost around £50. It also comes with a 12 months warranty.
This is a must have in every kitchen. It is a 3-in-1 cooker, allowing it to act as a rice cooker, steamer and slow cooker. It comes in two colours -silver and white. I've personally got the white one.
... ...is extremely useful, preventing water droplets from dripping over), spoon storage and spoon, and a plastic cup (for measuring the amount of rice). I must remind you that the plastic cup can only be used for measuring rice and not water, unless you are only cooking 1 cup of rice. Also, do serve with the plastic spoon as this would prevent any scratches on the bowl that might scrap off the non stick coat.
The touch locking lid allows you to open the ...
