The Tefal Classic toaster provides for 2 slices of standard size bread. It has a facility to adjust the height of the 'pop-up' when the toasting is done. So, if crumpets or smaller slices are put in, the adjustment allows them to be popped up to the height of the top, and not be left within the toaster (so saving burnt fingers trying to retrieve them!) Generally it performs well. However, it does not toast evenly. The inner elements do not glow very red at all. The result is bread that is unevenly toasted. The degree of toasting can be adjusted with an electronic device. This works quite well, allowing for a light toasting to well burnt! The evenness of toasting as mentioned before is what lets it down. The crumb tray is modest. Most of the crumbs are caught and can be emptied easily. The cable can be tidied underneath, but never seems to fit as easily as when it was bought. All in all, it does its basic job okay, but because of the uneven toasting it is not the best.
