The designer sat down and began planning the new kitchen on a laptop computer, after we'd chosen our doors, worktops and handles. We wanted all new fitted appliances as our existing free standing stuff was getting a bit long in the tooth.
After an hour or so, he was able to show us a visual of what the new kitchen would look like, and after we suggested a couple of minor changes, we arrived at a plan that looked stunning and had all the features we wanted. There is also a range of appliances, on two price levels. Both German makes, but one range, Kuupersbusch, way over my price range, and the other, Teka, a bit ?ouch? but manageable. There are no price lists, naturally, but on asking they will incorporate that appliance and then tell you the damage.
Anyway, man came, sat for three hours and designed, then gave me a price. If any of you watch Eastenders, I have a house which is similar in style to one of those ? The Slaters, if you like. My kitchen is not huge, it is a moderate size. Units are along one wall ...
