Review of "Tekken (DVD)"
About a young man who lives in the slums outside of the walls of tekken city and who is driven to vengeance when his mother is executed. The only way to get revenge is to fight and compete in the iron fist tournament in tekken city.
The film starts with them telling you about after terror wars the government fell and eight corporations took control of everything and fighting with each other trying to get what ever remained. Then cuts the main character Jin Kazama (Jon Foo) working as a thief and getting chases by armed guys called jacks. In this fantastic opening chase scene where u see some amazing stunts athletic jumps and explosions. But when he goes to visit his mother and after he leaves the jacks find her and are ordered to kill her by Heihachi Mishima the creator of tekken fighting tournament Jin decides he needs to enter the tournament so he can get close to Heihachi Mishima and kill him.
The only way he can enter this tournament is to enter an open call to fight Marshall Law (Cung Le) and be the people's champ. After no one accepts this challenge being to scared of Marshall Law Jin steps up to fight him. This is where you see Jin first fight scene and you can see how the rest of the fight scenes take place through the movie and how much work has gone into them. Needless to say Jin wins has gains his place in the tournament.
Then this is when we get to see more of the cast such as Steve Fox (Luke Goss) who helps Jin in any way he can. Also see Heihachi Mishima son Kazuya Ian (Anthony Dale) who is waiting to take over from his father but is on brink of rebeling and ready to do what it takes to gain full controll. We also see the other contestants in the tournement and some of the characters from the game. This is where you see the realetionship grows between jin and Christie Monteiro (Kelly Overton) another conestant. Plus Jin is told some secrets about his family mainly his mother and father.
After Jin makes it thought the first rounds Kazuya while working with Bryan Fury current iron fist champion decides that they need to take out Jin now. With Kazuya locking up his father and the iron fist contestants up Jin tries to escape when he fails with casualties he is made to fight Bryan Fury in the final after Jin wins and beats Bryan Fury. Kazuya decides he is the only one who can end this and orders Jin to fight him.
This is where I finish dont wish to spoil the ending for those who havent seen it.
Charecters and Performonces
Starting with Jin who does a very good job of what he is asked to do. His fighting ability's are very high and his acting is very good aswell. He starts as a cocky young man then to a disturbed young man after tragic in his life showing off his acting range while also having a strong new relationship with Christie Monteiro character. Kelly Overton role was a good addition most films have a sort of love story she plays it well and has some good fight scenes her self. Kazuya takes the role of the bad guy and does it well you do see it coming though but well acted and written makes it easy to despise this character. Would of liked to scene a few more fight scenes in the fighting tournament which wasn't Jin or one off the main characters.
To Sum Up
I enjoyed this film Worth the watch run-time about 86 minuets some good acting some better fight scenes. The story line is easy to follow i would give this film 7.5/10 main reason to watch this film to see game characters and fighting scenes worth the watch.Cast
