Advantages Excellent value
Disadvantages Telecom plus retain title with subsidized mobile phones
I cannot promise that this opinion will be unbiased, but I will try and steer clear of any wild claims and try to present the facts.
Telecom plus' Mobile plus tariff is, in my opinion, excellent value for those who actually use their phone. In other words, if you want a mobile to keep for emergencies then I suggest you get a pre-pay mobile phone deal.Should you actually want to use your phone more than once in a while then Mobile plus could certainly be for you. You can choose from various phones (subsidized or non-sunsidized). The differences between the two are that with the subsidised version Telecom plus are still owners of your phone unlike with the non-subsidized version which immediately benefits from £5.99 per month line rental. You can alos benefit from this tariff if you have a Orange, Virgin, One-2-One or dual-band phone and get a £25 SIM pack (which includes first £25 of calls free).
For a Nokia 5146 you have to pay £25 one-off fee (which includes first £25 of calls free) and Telecom plus still retain title. There is no minimum contract. Standard calls cost 8p per minute whatever the time. It costs 35p per minute to call other mobiles or 5p per minute to call Mobile plus mobile phones. You will be charged 8p per SMS message and 8p per minute for optional voicemail collection.Line rental costs £9.99 for the first year, £7.99 for the second year and £5.99 for the third year. You will receive a detailed statement every month (at no extra cost) which will show your mobile phone calls and Smart Box calls. When you order a Mobile plus mobile, you will get a Smart Box free (also available without mobile) at no extra cost - it helps reduce your home phone bill and simply plugs into your BT socket.
I have tried to be as objective as possible but it was hard considering that I am licensed retailer of these phones. Should you require more info, such as a leaflet, then you can get in touch with me at jameswellburn@yahoo.co.uk .
