My new phone
Review of BT Synergy 4500 by
fossiebear
Advantages: Upto date technology
Disadvantages: Having to charge the batteries before use
...years and so when our BT Response 123 plus stopped deleting messages I thought it was time to replace it. Off I went to Tesco where I found amongst the array of phones on offer a BT Synergy 4500 and at £59.99 it looked to be a decent deal. Most of the other phones appeared to come in 2's or 3's and I immediately thought "too confusing for me". The Synergy though, was a piece of cake to install - plug into the wall and plug in the connector and the ... ...instructions said "charge the battery for 24 hours before using" and so I had to disconnect the line whilst the battery charged. It is almost a mobile phone connected to the land line with an external range of 300m and an internal range of 100m - I could use it from my neighbours home if I ever needed to!! It also has a SIM card download feature so I could down load all my mobile numbers onto the handset - a capacity of 255 numbers! It comes with ...

iDECT X3i
Review of Idect Idect X3I by
chuckylover
Advantages: Beautiful design. Superb sound quality. Quality look and feel. Wide range of features.
Disadvantages: No common phone book.
The iDECT X3i differs from the X3 in that it has a built in answer phone. Apart from that they are identical.
We have both; we simply re-registered the X3 phones to the X3i base making it see 6 handsets.
Firstly, forget any preconceptions you may have about these being Binatone phones, they leagues apart from what they used to produce in the past.
The phones themselves are very stylish being only 15mm thick and have a lovely clean modern look ... ...helps with keeping it clean if sticky fingers get at it! There are two colours of keypad available, a limited edition silver colour and a black. We have both but to be honest we prefer the black.
The keypad is backlit as is the phones colour display. Despite this, standby life and talk-time are more than ample for the home environment.
Call sound quality is superb. We have yet to hear any interference. Effective range is on a par with most good ...

Belkin Wi-Fi handset - believe the Skype hype?
Review of Belkin F1PP000GN Skype WIFI Phone by
Pookie_Rabbit
Advantages: Easy to set-up and use to gain access to the Skype network
Disadvantages: Cant connect to most wireless networks. Echo..
This review is for the Belkin Wireless Skype Handset and not of the Skype system as such but a brief overview is required. In 2003 Skype (rymes with "type") released an idea that allowed a user to make calls from one computer to the another using an already established network - the Internet. This allowed you to call your cousin in Australia "free of charge" - your obviously still paying for your Internet connection but if you already had this in ... ...turned out to be the Belkin Wireless Skype Handset which at £46.99 was a good deal cheaper than the Netgear SPH101 at £80.12 at that time. I believe all models are pretty much the same price again at the time of writing.
On arrival the box had a number of items. The phone, battery, charger, USB cable, CD and quick start guide. My first impressions of the handset was "plasticy" and light. However to be fair this is because I was used to a standard ...

BT Phone Home
Review of BT Diverse 6210 by
phoenixgreen
Advantages: Neat, looks great, has everything you'd expect from a digital cordless phone.
Disadvantages: Not the cheapest on the market.
The Bt Diverse is a digital cordless phone which can be bought as a single phone, or in a a twin or trio pack, where you get a phone with a base unit plus 1 or 2 more phones to use around the house. Only the base unit needs to be plugged into a phone socket, which means you can put the extra phones in any room, and move them from room to room if you want to. The extra phones just need an electrical socket for them to work. The phone itself looks ... ...and if you have a BT Line and are on option 2 or 3 for your line rental you get free texts. I am on option 2 and get 100 free texts per month - so this is like £10.00 of free texts. If you are on option 3, you get 200 free texts per month(£20.00).
This phone is great value for money, given that it offers up-to-date technology for a good price. There are cheaper phones about, if you look, but all in all I say it's good value. On the BT website it ...

A long review of a Binatone Fusion 2510
Review of Binatone Fusion 2510 TWIN by
slaterbugs
Advantages: Speakerphone on both handset and base
Disadvantages: Some features may be a bit difficult to set up and use
The Good:
- price
- good display, nice features
- good range. 300 meters seems correct.
- base works when power is off. Remembers memory afterwards.
- speaker on the base and handset ie. handsfree
- not affected by computer or wireless modem devices.
The Bad:
- no keypad backlight for handset. - base and handset cannot be used at same time for one call. So if you pick up a call with the base, you cannot then use the handset to also talk.
... ...can only be used from the handset even though the message light flashes on the base (very strange)
- would be nice if the handset automatically answered a call when you lifted it off its charging station.
Overall:
Its a good basic system for the price! It beats other phone's with higher prices and has all the components I need in a phone system. I didn't have a problem with the memory. It is a bit difficult to set up but once they are in its fine. ...
