...Eventually I came across the Panasonic range. The KX-TG8323 caught my eye straight away I liked the look and it felt as if it would cope with the rigours of a woman chatting to her mates. It also came with 3 handsets so that I could strategically place phones around the house to ensure ease of getting to a call. So I purchased the Panasonic KT-TG8323 for £105.
The Panasonic KT-TG8323 comes in a set of 3 with an answer-phone facility. The casing ... ...specifically set it). This Panasonic does not have an alarm. It does have a memo feature though that you can set like an alarm, the only problem being that if you choose 'daily' it will be waking you up at some ungodly hour at the weekend unless you turn it off the night before. If you set it daily, you have to input the date and time each time you do that.

I wanted to by this model because of the favorable reviews I had read.
I went to the local Comet shop where the only had the KXTG7124 model (with 4 handset: more than I needed) or else the newer KX-TG223ES with 3 handsets.
I could not quite identify any significant technical difference between the newer 7223 and the older 7123, but I immediately noticed that the newer7223 has extremely poor stability: a minimal shake would knock the handset off ... ...older KX-TG7123 could be shaken vigorously without falling off. I went back home an order the older but more stable 7123 from an online retailer, where it is still available. Having used this phone for just a few days, I can say so far there are many PROs and 1 CON.
PROs: works well, I like being able to enter phone numbers on one handset and being able to copy/transfer the whole phonebook to the other handsets.
CONs: none of the phones would work ...
Advantages: Cheap, easy to setup (just plug it all in and you can't get that wrong) Disadvantages: Display isn't backlit (being picky)
I bought this little thing as a cheap handset to stick onto a voip adaptor. I wasn't expecting much but it does more than I thought it would.
It is constructed of good solid plastic and so far hasn't broken or cracked (I've dropped it a few times onto hard tiles) It works well as a hands free phone
Unlike the other review, I get hours of talktime from the battery and the range from handset to the base unit works well for me as I can wonder around ... ...It comes with caller ID that works just fine via my service provider and via BT. The only complaint I have is that because the LCD isn't backlit it can be hard to see the screen prior to picking up the handset. But that is being picky.
For £15 I don't think you can get anything better. I started with one, I now have 3 in the house. Why pay for anything more expensive, after all it's just a fixed line phone! ...

Review of Tesco ARC110
Advantages: easy to use - cheap Disadvantages: some limations on tones
The BT Studio 3100 handsets - better than my last ones! I've had these handsets for about a year now and I am quite pleased with them. Although there are some limitations to their features for the price (£14.99 in Tesco's) I feel they have been great. ~~~Appearance~~~ Both handsets and bases are light silver in colour with a darker silver/grey shade buttons. All buttons have white writting/digits so they do stand out well. The handsets have a LCD ... ...think my BT Studio handsets have many advantages and I have certain found them easy to use. Review of BT Studio 3100
Advantages: Range of reception Disadvantages: Sound quality on phone calls is poor.
The sound on this phone is terrible - very tinny. Calls from a mobile phone were particularly hard on the ears, but even calls from a landline were not of great sound quality. I found the answering machine rather tricky to set up and tricky to use, but the sound quality on playback of messages is good.
