All 5 is good for is for a bit of porn

Advantages: none
Disadvantages: plenty

...correct all I believe this channel is capable of is producing soft porn at the early hours, which if you are in the correct receiving locations can only add to the tediousness of terrestrial television on a Wednesday evening! There are some diabolical programs and don't get me started on the news coverage its short and to the point, but glosses over the important facts! The best program I have seen so far on this channel has to be the kids tv programs ...

The British Way!!

Advantages: good variety and suitable for most people
Disadvantages: HOLLYOAKS

On the whole, Channel 4, and its digital channels are a have a good variety of shows for all types of people. The channel started broadcasting in 1988, and is a commercial channel, so adverts are on this channel. *What Types Of Shows Are On Channel 4?* Lots and lots is the simple answer. In the daytime there aren't that many top quality programmes, I watch ITV for daytime. There are shows like Friends and Will and Grace though, also there are older ...
...is Holly Oaks, which is Channel 4 attempt at a soap, but don't really like it that much. 7 till 8 is the news. After that channel 4 has a lot of good shows, from drama, comedy, documentary and films. They have got great British shows, such as the IT Crowd, Shameless and many film that are British. Overall a great variety of programme. *Digital Channels* There are also digital channel run by C4. E4, Film 4, More 4 and 4 Music, these all have plus ...

ITV1 - everyone else Nil!

Advantages: Good UEFA coverage
Disadvantages: Too many Soaps and too much Drama.

...plethora of choices for viewers. ITV launched ITV Digital, a similar set up to that of the BBC, with a News and Sports channel. Trouble was that the coverage was so bad that the News Channel folded and the Sports Channel didn't really have much to show as Sky had most of the rights to the Football games that ITV wanted, so ITV had no choice but to show games that were further down the league tables. After the expensive failure of the ITV Digital ...
...embarrassment when the launch of ITV Play was found to be raising funds without giving viewers a fair chance of competing in the games being broadcast. For example that the 1000 players who had phoned in to a premium line experienced a busy tone even though they had paid £1 to get through, so you could have a couple of hundred people continuously trying a £1 per time with the phone being answered to every 1 in 50 players who got through to the show. ...

Tipping the Velvet... the dildo's tomorrow

Advantages: Enlightening, entertaining, sexy....
Disadvantages: ... but not sexy enough for some?

Five million viewers can’t be wrong! Tipping the Velvet, Andrew Davies’ adaptation of Sarah Waters’ Victorian lesbian romp, has actually trumped The Office in the ratings. The advance publicity for this drama was simply phenomenal – pretty much every newspaper and entertainment mag had profiled the writer, or one of the cast, in the weeks preceding it’s tv premiere. So we all knew much of what to expect – and ...
...it was for the music, the acting and the drama, but let’s just be honest here – two hot young chicks, dressing as men and having rumpy pumpy in the era of bustles and gin? Bring it on!! I was fascinated by the lesbian angle as much as I was by both Waters and Davies fearsome creative reputations. And I wasn’t let down on either part. Tipping the Velvet (Victorian slang for oral sex!! ooh!!) is a story all about a young girl living ...
