All 5 is good for is for a bit of porn
Review of Channel 5 by Burning999

Advantages: none
Disadvantages: plenty

...correct all I believe this channel is capable of is producing soft porn at the early hours, which if you are in the correct receiving locations can only add to the tediousness of terrestrial television on a Wednesday evening! There are some diabolical programs and don't get me started on the news coverage its short and to the point, but glosses over the important facts! The best program I have seen so far on this channel has to be the kids tv programs ... Read review

ITV is No Longer for Me
Review of ITV by Potless

Advantages: Very few
Disadvantages: Too much reality TV, "Celebrity" obsesssion, promotional overkill, too much dumbing down

...used to be a big ITV fan - there was usually something interesting to watch on most days of the week. Survival, A Touch of Frost, Soldier Soldier, Inspector Morse; all high quality programmes that appealed to a wide age range. But what are we stuck with now? Crass reality shows like "Celebrity Love Island", "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!", and most horrific of all, "Celebrity Wrestling". Not to mention some truly diabolical "dramas", such ...
...flash of naked flesh. Only ITV can get away with this as we do not pay them a licence fee - if the BBC started broadcasting trash like this, there would be a public outcry and the D.G. would be told to resign! Reality TV is also extremely inexpensive to produce (and don't let the programme-makers tell you otherwise). For every five episodes of "Celebrity Has-Beens on Botox Island", they could probably have produced an exceptional drama, comedy or ... Read review

Channel 4: The Curse Of The Network
Review of Channel 4 by ReviewDude

Advantages: Criket & Count Down & Big Brother
Disadvantages: Friends Repeats

Channel 4 has to be one of the world's worst TV networks. The companies main goals seem to be get rid of any good shows they have and waste money on a number of failed morning shows such as RI:SE! In this high detailed report I look at Channel 4: The Curse Of The Network. Channel 4 was the last channel to be launched which doesn't require anything but a normal TV. Soon after the launch of ITV channel 4 was launched. It offer a range of new shows ...
...Good Morning and welcome to Channel 4. It's 1996 this is "The Big Breakfast". The show soon became a hit and was watched by millions of viewers every morning. But after a number of years on air the show started having problems. A number of the presenters decided to quit the show and the lack of new idea's meant viewers turning over to ITV for GMTV. Channel 4 soon decided it was time for a change and spent money on a brand new show "RI:SE". Four unknown ... Read review

Tipping the Velvet... the dildo's tomorrow
Review of BBC2 by ShoppingGirl

Advantages: Enlightening, entertaining, sexy....
Disadvantages: ... but not sexy enough for some?

Five million viewers can’t be wrong! Tipping the Velvet, Andrew Davies’ adaptation of Sarah Waters’ Victorian lesbian romp, has actually trumped The Office in the ratings. The advance publicity for this drama was simply phenomenal – pretty much every newspaper and entertainment mag had profiled the writer, or one of the cast, in the weeks preceding it’s tv premiere. So we all knew much of what to expect – and ...
...it was for the music, the acting and the drama, but let’s just be honest here – two hot young chicks, dressing as men and having rumpy pumpy in the era of bustles and gin? Bring it on!! I was fascinated by the lesbian angle as much as I was by both Waters and Davies fearsome creative reputations. And I wasn’t let down on either part. Tipping the Velvet (Victorian slang for oral sex!! ooh!!) is a story all about a young girl living ... Read review
