How did I find this delight?
-----------------------------------
Simply by browsing round the aisles and there, on special, a rather large notice advertising two packs of these simply delicious chocolate cakes for £1.50!
Packaging
--------------
The packs contain 4 muffins. The packaging is mostly see through ... ...and all the family enjoyed them also so I have introduced my northern relatives to this new delicacy!

I must admit that I never used to be a great fan of muffin cakes. That is, until recently, when I discovered, quite by chance, Tesco 4 double chocolate chip muffins!
How did I find this delight? -----------------------------------
Simply by browsing round the aisles and there, on special, a rather large notice advertising two packs of these simply delicious chocolate cakes for £1.50!
Packaging --------------
The packs contain 4 muffins. The packaging is mostly see through (how else can we see the delicious large pieces of chocolate sticking through the muffin which entices us chocoholics to buy them!). There is a blue band going down the right hand side of the pack of four cakes which shows three large pieces of chocolate - tempting you to try the goodies inside.
Ingriedients ----------------
The reverse side of the packaging informs you of the ingredients. Each muffin weighs 72g and has 302 kcal of which 3.9g are saturated fats. I always gauge a product by the kcal and saturated fat contents (those of you who have "done" Weightwatchers will recognise this fact). Each muffin also contains approximately 0.9g of salt. All in all, quite a fattening cake but suitable for vegetarians.
Storage of the muffins ------------------------------
The muffins should be stored in a cool, dry place and once the packaging is opened they should be stored in an airtight container. Personally speaking, mine didn't last long enough to store in a container! One good fact about these muffins is that they can be frozen so we can stock up when they are on offer and freeze them. When defrosting frozen muffins, please allow at least two hours before eating - hard I know, but you really don't want to break any teeth trying to eat a frozen muffin now do you?
What do they look like? -------------------------------
Well, the muffins look like a piece of heaven to me! But, honestly, they are of a very generous size, approximately 3" high x 2 1/2" wide. They are dark brown and have a glaze over the top part. You can see the double chocolate chips sticking out. They are shouting "eat me, eat me" and who can resist their pleas?
What do they taste like? -------------------------------
Sheer heaven! The muffin has a very light texture - not a "heavy" cake at all. With every bite there are large pieces of chocolate. I must warn you that some crumbs tend to escape when you bite into the muffin but, chocolate lovers out there, I tell you that you will find the crumbs - you won't let them escape - because you need to eat them! You want to eat every little scrap of this delightful cake. The chocolate just melts into your mouth.
How long do they last? ------------------------------
60 seconds if they are lucky! When I first purchased my muffins (special offer as described above) I ate one pack straightaway - I did give the second pack to my grandson as I knew I would eat them as well. When visiting my mum in Sunderland last week, I bought another two packs (still on special) and all the family enjoyed them also so I have introduced my northern relatives to this new delicacy!

...in my local convenience store Tesco (convenient cos it's near work on my way home),
I had had a bad day battling with children. I was tempted by a pack of 4 double chocolate muffins I thought they would go well with my reviving cup of tea. A pack of 4 will cost you £137p today 37p each muffin.
So after paying and forging my way home. I made my cup of tea and sat down with the muffins. I opened the clear pack and took the paper case of one the muffin ... ...choc chips sticking out of it about 3 inches tall .It weighs 72 g . First I smellt the cake yes it smelt appetisingly chocolaty I took a bite it was moist a little crumbly I got a big piece of chocolate in the first bite mmmmm a very rich chocolaty cake with a chunk of chocolate in it. I took another bite and another bite and another bite, in each mouthful there were double chocolate drops the cake was rich and chocolaty, just what I needed after ...

Then you have to try tesco's double chocolate chip muffins they're packed full of tasty chocolate and unlike most healthy living products are not dry but instead very moist! They really are a special treat if your currently on a weight watchers program or just watching those calories with around 212 per cake it really doesn't matter! The only disadvantage in my eyes is the wasteful packaging all made of plastic which should ideally be eradicated ...
