If you are looking for a good safe place to save with a decent interest rate I do not think you cannot go wrong with a Tesco Savings Account. The Interest rate at this moment is 5.25%. This is very good and well above average for instant access savings accounts. Money can be paid in and withdrawn at any Royal Bank of Scotland branch or at any Tesco store and that in most cases means 24hours a day.
Both my wife and myself have instant savings accounts with Tesco and find the service very good.
The only drawback is that you cannot have you salary paid into the account. The online banking is also very good and is updated almost instantaneously. Tesco also offer a telephone banking service. I rate their service very good and in my opinion they could teach the big names is banking a lesson or two.
