Tesco Argentinian Malbec

Tesco Malbec is a dry, fruity red with a bit of substance to stand up to food, but also light enough for every day drinking. It is priced at £2.99 and usually found amongst the sub-£3.50 wines on the bottom shelves of Tesco next to Italian Merlot and Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon at a similar price. It is produced in the Mendoza region of Argentina, which is high up and dry which apparently allows the malbec grape to develop its complex dry fruit flavour. Now I'm not going to give a detailed description about the fact that it has a hint of wild blueberries and smells of pumpkin because I really tell any of this. All I know is if a wine tastes nice to me and if it tastes horrible. Getting into the wine is very easy as you don't have to use a corkscrew and risk getting cork into your wine. I love the screw caps because it is easy to close the bottle again. However, this wine is so lovely that I rarely close the bottle. It is very smooth and easy to drink.
