The Tesco CF06 Chocolate Fountain is a great little fountain.

I bought this for my kids last year as a little surprise for their Christmas, we had been to a wedding a couple of months earlier and this was really their first experience with a chocolate fountain and they loved it but weren't aware that you could get them for the home!

We first used this on Hogmanay as we were having a party, the kids would have had me using it on Christmas day but the amount of chocolate needed really warrants a bit more than just 4 people, unless of course you want to make yourself sick!

You needed around about 800g of Belgian Chocolate. You are advised to use Belgian Chocolate as this is smoother and oilier when melted and less likely to clog the machine. If, however, you would prefer to use ordinary milk chocolate then you are advised to add some vegetable oil to the melted chocolate, again to prevent clogging. Although slightly more expensive I felt it was easier just to use the Belgian Chocolate, I bought Tesco's own at £0.89 per 200g.

While melting the chocolate in a bowl switch the heater on the fountain on. Once the chocolate has fully melted pour into the bowl at the base of the fountain and then turn the motor on. The chocolate will now slowly rise through the fountain and then start to pour over the top. After a few minutes you have to turn the motor off and then back on again after another couple of minutes, this is to help get rid of any air bubbles inside. Once turned on again, at last, we are ready to go. Now just grab your skewer and make yourself a kebab, we used strawberries, raspberries, marshmallows (mmmmmmmmm my favourite!), pineapple chunks, toffee, fudge and then just hold the skewer under the warm, dripping chocolate. Alternatively just grab a marshmallow or piece of fruit and dip it in. Oh! It's delicious!

If using the wooden skewer method I would advise paper plates, especially if there are kids about as the chocolate does tend to end up, well, everywhere!

Cleaning the machine was surprisingly easy too, I found it easier to clean the bowl when the chocolate was still melted by just wiping it clean. The rest of the machine comes apart and can be washed in hot soapy water.

This is a great little machine, which I would recommend to everyone. It has been used many times over the last year and is still going strong. When on it usually lasts about 4 hours, depending on how many kids or chocolate addicts are about. I have not had any problems with this at all, the only thing I would change would be to make the bowl slightly deeper as it is a bit shallow but nevertheless, has never caused any problems.

Usually priced £27.99 but when I bought it it was on special offer at £11.99 so I was really lucky.

Definitely a great buy.
