I'm a Mum, and I have to say, sorry Peter, I am guilty of buying crap pop too! Only mine isn't Rola Cola, its Tesco's Value brand and I'm sure even Rola Cola never made it at 15p a bottle!
I don't know as I would refer to such brands as 'crap pop' ... Read review

...there. Sainsburys, ASDA, Tesco and Safeway all do similar no frills products, and Tesco and ASDA are usually considerably cheaper (depends on offers).
It is only when you start comparing it with much higher priced products that it compares less favourably, and after all, you wouldn't compare a Ford Fiesta to a Rolls Royce.
Overall therefore, I think its a fair price for an 'ok' product, it fills a gap in the market and my kids are happy to drink ... ...similar products its fine. Sorry, Peter Kay, we Mum's will probably continue to buy crap pop.

OK, well I am getting off the beaten track here, but I have recently discovered a real bargain on the cheap coke front and thought I should share it with my fellow Ciao members.
If you can find your way to an ALDI store (not LIDL as theirs tastes like Tesco), their American diet ...

Advantages: Very cheap option compared to most colas Disadvantages: taste isn't great, and the smell is pretty nasty
...rather a good idea. Tesco Value sugar free cola retails in my local Tesco at 15p per 2 litre bottle, as you can see a major saving, but being a little careful, I didn’t go full steam ahead and buy just the value cola, I bought 3 of my regular brand, and just one bottle of value cola, just to be on the safe side you know!
The Taste Test...
Ok, a bit clichéd maybe, and before you ask, no I didn’t pour one of each sort or blindfold myself. But if ... ...myself a glass of the Tesco Cola and it bubbled up in the usual way cola does, and looked the same colour – good start. - I picked up the glass and went to take a sip… as I did so, the smell of this cola hit me and I have to say it wasn’t what I would call a particularly enticing smell. Its actually quite hard to describe, but if you remember cola cubes (those little hard square sweets you used to buy by the quarter in the corner shop) it is a very ...

...those clever chaps at the Tesco cola lab have finally cracked the secret recipe!”. And then, after a couple more swigs, you think: “Ugh.” And, if you are anything like me, you hurl the can to the ground and set about it with a huge mallet. And not a comedy foam mallet, either, but a real one made of metal. If you are not like me, then you might just chuck it in the bin, but the overall message is the same. It just isn’t proper cola, unless you’ve ... ...Some colas are proper drinks, and others are like the stuff you used to get out of Soda Streams (pap). Tesco cola falls into the latter category.
So I think I’ve banged on about this enough now. I don’t like Tesco cola very much. And neither should you. ...

Advantages: tastes almost as good as Coke Disadvantages: Label
...expect, with the very familiar Tesco logo across the top in even darker red.
Then in the middle it says, in white lower case, Cola. In the background it says faintly, 'Cool refreshing taste' over and ovar separated by stars.
~How much and where from?~
You can get Tesco Cola in any Tesco store, big or small, but the pack sizes may vary. The store I work in is quite big, so you can get the bigger sizes, but if you use a small store like a Metro ... ...obviously putting their ops for Tesco Value Cola in the wrong category, as that IS foul.

I suppose the ingredients arent that good, the three most present are:
Carbonated Water
Sugar
Colour
So this does contain artificial colouring and flavouring. But then again, I suppose normal Coke does too.

Advantages: Looks and tastes great. really cheap Disadvantages: not too healthy
The item title says tesco cola, so I'm presuming it is about the normal tesco cola, and not the tesco value rubbish which tastes little better than cabbage water.
Price
---------------------------------------
I always buy tesco cola when I shop at tescos, unless there is a really good offer on the branded stuff. Its only 44p a bottle (2 litre) at my local tesco extra, and the same price in the tesco express down the road.
Even though its cheap, ... ...bought a house, my food budget is a bit tight at the moment so this is a cheap luxury item.
Serving instructions + storage

If you drink it at room temperature, that's your won fault, because it does state on the label best served chilled, and it really is.
I leave mine chilling in the fridge for about 2-4 hours before drinking it, as the flavour is so much improved and the fizz has a much more refeshing ...
