Tesco Direct Is it Good bad or just plain ugly 21 of 21 Ciao Users found the following review helpful

Advantages They always turn up on time. You no longer have to go in person

Disadvantages It can take to long to do your shopping when you are first starting out

Living in Yorkshire it has taken the guys and girls at
Tesco a little while to bring their amazing on-line
shopping service into our area. Which at the time I found
frustrating. However now that it has arrived it has made
our life just that little bit easier and my blood
pressure a little bit lower.

My first experience of using their service was some what
slow and at time irritating. I have found that their
search engine comes up with the most unlikely items first
when you are looking for something as basic as Tomatoes.
It does get to the item you want though eventually.

Now that I have used the service a few times it has
handily recorded what I normally purchase. This is a
great function as it now takes me half the time to do my
shopping. You just click on favorites and then on the sub
section for example the bakery and there it lists all the
items you normally buy. Who would have thought it ?

As to the delivery, I have found the staff to be friendly
and helpful. The most shocking thing is that they are
always turn up within the allocated time slot. You can’t
ask for better then that. As well as this talent to turn
up on time they also deliver seven days a week. Sunday
has become a favorite with me as this is when we normally
do our weekly shop.

The products when they arrive are always fresh and to a
good standard. When I first ordered I was worried that
the meat and vegetables might not be up to much, this has
never been the case. On the down side however they do
replace some items if they are not available with
something else which is normally more expensive. On this
basis I am now opting not to receive the item rather than
the more expensive alternative. It’s good that they give
you this option.

The only thing I do miss apart from the crowds (joke) is
the luxury of browsing. Although you can browse on-line,
it is just not the same as walking up and down the isles
to see if something catches your eye.

So as to weather they are good bad or just plain ugly,
well I would have to say that they are good. They have
helped me out in my hour of need when my van broke down
and also saved me the pain of pushing that trolley with
the dodgy wheel around Tesco on a busy Saturday or Sunday
afternoon.
