    Tesco Click & Collect...

We ordered a Dyson DC35 handheld vacuum cleaner from Tesco Direct, at the same time ordered the accessory set with John Lewis. Tesco offered click and collect at our local store in two days time after 4pm. (John Lewis offered next day at a local Waitrose after 2pm and the box was there ready and waiting.) We weren't able to collect from Tesco on the designated day so went late afternoon the following day. The Dyson couldn't be found and the database showed 'no record'. When customer services tracked the item using the Yodel tracking number it recorded that it had been delivered and signed for at the back door by someone called 'Martin'. The Dyson still couldn't be found and nearby staff didn't know a Martin at that store. A Customer Services assistant quite aggressively said they couldn't do anything about it but I needed to phone up Tesco Direct. We complained and were told we could use their phone. In fact a different, more helpful, assistant phoned, another Dyson was ordered which did arrive the next day. Whilst we were waiting to collect another lady was having problems with an item which should have been at the store 3 days ago but wasn't. The customer services assistant was waiting on hold to Tesco Direct, we also had a query about pricing so waited with them. After 30 minutes she was still holding on, we gave up and left still leaving them on hold. It is our opinion from the various conversations we had were that staff were finding 'click and collect' difficult to manage at the store. My husband works at Tesco so we get a 10% discount but I would be very hesitant to use them again even with the discount.
