Advantages Delicious full bodied wine
Disadvantages Quite expensive

I love a glass of red wine and I love a tasty full bodied red. One of my favourites is Chateauneuf du Pape so when I spotted it on offer in Tesco at £5.99 a bottle just a few weeks before Christmas I resolved to treat myself to a couple of bottles to enjoy over the festive period especially as there was an additional 25% off if I bought six bottles of wine in total. If you buy French wines you have probably already heard of the Appellation Controlee system. Advantages Enjoyable flavours, warming and pleasant on a winter evening

Tesco finest Chateauneuf du Pape originates from a very famous wine region in the Southern Rhone river area of France. Chateauneuf du Pape was once the temporary haunt of the Pope (hence its name) and is responsible for some rich, powerful, spicy and densely flavourful red wines which command high prices and this wine is no exception at the full price of £12.99 per bottle. The wine itself is full bodied, has warm and pleasant aromas of mellow baked fruit, red berries and spice. Quick review of Tesco Finest Chateauneuf du Pape by freddyokel 24/11/2007

Bought this wine at 11.98ukp because I fancied a bit of a treat and I'm a Chateauneuf fan. However, I found it very dry, tanic and lacking in the full flavour I expect from a Chateauneuf. Awful. I'm taking it back for a refund tomorrow. less
