Advantages Advantages Cheap, efficient, cooks through thoroughly. virtually perfect!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Small power lead, no variable heat setting.

I was looking for something to help with my predicament at the moment & came accross the Tesco Health Grill, by accident. Im having a new kitchen fitted on 7th April & have had to have the kitchen stripped of everything including my cooker, as I needed other work doing, including all the walls & ceilings plastered. Im not a ready meal person. I have to watch my salt intake very carefully & I like what I like. So the thought of microwave meals filled me with dread. I was flicking through Tesco online, trying to find anything I could buy, that was cheap & would allow me to make a meal myself. I ... more

Advantages Advantages cheap, non stick plate, grills well

Disadvantages Disadvantages non variable temperature, non removable plates

This is a good value health grill from Tesco, with a non stick cooking surface. The grill makes eating healthier as it cooks out all the fat from the food as it drips towards the bottom which can be caught in a tray. It also comes with a spatula. The design is quite basic, it has a silver design with a red and green light at the top to indicate when it is hot enough so that it is ready to use. The surface can be lifted up to get access to the cooking plate which in black with vertical strips for the grilling panels. It is at a slight angle so the fat doesn't stay arounf the food surface and ... more

I have written this review, and have written a review about a similar sized / similar product by George Foreman that I bought for my Grandma and have used on many occasions and would have to say I prefer this grill. I bought this grill over the George Foreman as it was on offer at the time, and was available in the size I needed my local Tesco, which the George Foreman wasn't, and I am glad I made the decision to do so. I find the grill is easy to use, just plug in and am away, cooking my favourites chicken and salmon steaks very quickly and thoroughly, and of course drains off all the fat ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap, quick, healthy, as good as more expensive brands

Disadvantages Disadvantages No heat control or floating hinges

For £9.97 this was a bargain just as good if not better than the George Foreman makes which are several times the price. Every home should have one. I think the usual retail price is around £15, but even at that it's a bargain. The grill functions in the same way that other 'health grills' do. You turn it on and allow it to heat up, it will then apply heat to your food from both sides, cooking food twice as quickly as a conventional grill. All excess fat is drained away, hence the name 'health grill' It includes two fat drip trays and two spatulas. I wouldn't allow any fat or food pieces to ... more

Advantages Advantages Perfect product, great value too.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

This my fifth grill and the best one so far in terms of price, size, performance and ease of use. Gets to temperature quickly. Cooks evenly even if food is on the outer edges of the grill. The plates were incredibly easy to wipe clean and every thing feels sturdy, with a good weight to it, Comes with a plug attached and is ready to go. The price is only a coule of pounds above the value grill and it's twice the size and much nicer in appearance. I would definitekly recommend this item, I'm a big user of these grills (I cook significant amounts of food on them every day for years) and this is ... more
