The packet gives us all the above infomation on the outside, which is great becuase you don't have to go looking for the basic infomation, shopping with 2 kids is bad enough without having to spend ages digging around for calories and fat content. It also states that is has no artifical colours, flavourings or preservatives, and that it is made with lean beef. The cooking instructions are also displayed on the outside as well. And it also telss you that it has a medium spice level. And at the moment it is on a long term price offer of 5 items for £4. It has a nice bright picture of the product itself, shown with a bit of greenery. Also on the side it tells you that it can't be guaranteed nut free.
*Cooking*
It does ell us that it can be cooked in the oven for 45 mins, but i'm a microwave girl so i have to prick the plastic lid, pop it in for 4.5 mins on full power, stir it and return to microwave for 4 mins and then wait for another 4 mins. Nice and easy.
*appearance*
Looks OK, bit messed up because of using the microwave you have to stir it half way through, but it still looks presentable. It looks like the pic on the box, so no con job there. It does look quite red though which to me sudjested that it was going to have a strong tomato taste. Lots of potatoe wedges and kidney beans visable.
*taste test*
It is def what i would call a medium spice, it has a nice kick but doesn't make your lips numb. I can't taste the peppers in it, but i can feel the texture of them. My first misgivings that it would taste of tomao were wrong, which is a good thing. It also has a good meaty texture, it is not sloppy like some pre packaged foods. The potato wedges are also spicy but more in a southern fried chicken way than actually hot. Which is great becuase you can actaully differentiate between the 2 products. They are nice and soft as well, no hard bits. I would suggest that oven cooking would made them crispy?
*overall*
A very nice meal, that filled me up, although i put a bit of veg with mine. I will be buying this product again, i was pleased with the appearance, the taste, the texture, the price and the protion size.
