Advantages: Opening Hours, Prices, Special Offers, Staff, Convinence
Disadvantages: Lack of Privacy. Not very quiet enviroment

...19 Instore Opticians within the Tesco group situated across the UK. They are only sited within the Extra Store formats, to complement the Instore Pharmacy services. (Though there is at least 1 store, Inverness, where there is no pharmacy!). Plans are afoot, according to Tesco, to launch another 35 Opticians. The Optical Project started some 5 years ago within Tesco, and it seems only now that they are ready to launch full steam ahead with them.

Good, but still something missing....

Advantages: Easy parking, professional staff, good after-care.
Disadvantages: It's Tesco!

...Well, on casually shopping at Tesco one day, I floated over to their opticians and found out they were offering a free eye test with 100 clubcard points to boot. I figured I had nothing to lose and putting my original fears aside, booked both my boyfriend and myself in for an appointment that same week. I do not usually think Tesco provides great customer service. I recently had a debacle with them trying to return a £2 pack of screwdrivers, grr..! ...
...rather informal. When using a Tesco optician, you are aware of the constraints and I did not expect much more than what I got in terms of layout. However, the there is nothing unprofessional or informal about the staff and this is what I found so reassuring. They acted appropriately and with care for thier job, as the professionals it soon became clear they were. I don't know if I was half expecting a shop assistant to be conducting the eye test ...

Tesco Opticians Disappointment

Advantages: Opening hours
Disadvantages: Forced to buy new frames even if you don't need them, long wait, unfriendly staff

I had an appointment with tesco Opticians yesterday and I was quite disappointed. The waiting time was way too long (30 minutes). The staff was unfriendly and the waiting room is just a joke - two chairs between the shopping shelves, so no privacy at all. The test only took seven minutes as the optician was obviously in a hurry because there were five more people waiting outside to be seen. My eyes have unfortunately deteriorated and I had a new ...
...there for. I wouldn't recommend tesco opticians to anyone. Their opening hours are good for people who work but don't fall for it unless you're prepared to wait at their ridiculous waiting room consisting of two chairs on the shampoo aisle after being to work all day. I went to a propper optician today and she said she would fit new light and thin lenses to my frames for 40 pounds without forcing me to buy new ones from her. She was very friendly, ...

Glasses & Test

Advantages: For basic reading glasses at £20 + free test cant be bad...Bargain
Disadvantages: Add ons can work out expensive especially if you want a designer pair

Visited my nearest Tesco Optician to get eyesight checked, drove the 8 miles over when i got there was told by a very unfriendly Coloured Lady that i had to make an appointment, tried to talk to her regards my previous specs from Specsavers and could i just have the lenses changed, she interupted me so just walked away, so i returned the following day and was greeted by 2 friendly assistants, i went in first, my wife followed. After having my eyes ...
...you know i need new glasses'' he then asked me how would i describe my test and the last few lenses he was testing me with, i said it was 20-30% better, he then explained that if i had said 10% then he would of told me to keep my previous ones. If by some chance specsavers offer a free test soon i may take them up on the offer to see what they say. Well 2 days later got txt mess to say glasses were ready, i went over and encountered the Coloured ...

Tesco Opticians

Advantages: Great products, convenient, easy to get to
Disadvantages: None

I have recently visited Tesco Opticians, I was very pleased with the service I received. The staff were very helpful and friendly and went out of their way to help me. The store was very busy and I still felt that the staff were willing to help me I have had variflocal glasses for the first time and they explained them really well. There were lots of great frames, I felt spoiled for choice. On the whole I would recommend Tesco Opticians, I liked ...

EXCELLENT OFFERS AND SPECSAVERS-BEATING PRICES!

Advantages: service, prices, friendly staff, convenient
Disadvantages: lack of privacy

Excellent service! Great prices!! Contrary to popular belief, every store is different and you cannot tar everyone with the same brush. I've been wearing specs since i was 8 and I have been to every high street Opticians and some independents too and the service is never consistent across the board, it all depends on the individual store. However, based on my experience, I would recommend the Chadwell heath store to anyone living locally. The ...
...again contrary to popular belief, even though it is Tesco, you have to remember the people employed aren't all fresh off the fish counter! The manager and opticians are usually highly qualified and usually recruited from other high street multiples and locums who could be working at any opticians. Personally, I'm delighted with my glasses and I shall be telling everyone I know! Should have gone to Tesco!.... ...

Did Tesco really contribute towards my holiday

Disadvantages: none

.00 spent everywhere else), Tesco Insurance (points vary), Tesco Mobile Telephone (3 points for every £1.00 spent on Top up), Tesco Broadband (points vary), Tesco Opticians (not sure how points work), green Clubcard points for reusing carrier bags (1 ? 4 points depending on size of bag reused), recycling mobile telephones or ink cartridges through Tesco (up to 200 green points) and for buying your gas and electricity from EON (1 point for every £1.00 paid I think). Review of Tesco Clubcard

Should I fight for my shopping

Advantages: Large stores, vast range, reasonably priced
Disadvantages: Oppressive, poor customer service

of the supermarkets if somewhat grotty in its appearance, presentation and quality. More recently, Tesco has rebranded itself as a mainstream, quality retailer. The products are on a par with its competitors (the likes of Sainsburys, Asda and Morrisons) and in this regard I find very little to compare in that the products themselves are generally the same (in fact, some food products in Tesco are so similar to Sainsburys equivalents it is almost obvious that they originate from the same place!). Tesco does have a wider range of non-food items than Sainsburys, and about the same range as Asda. They have diversified into household products, toys, games, electrical items, clothes, sports goods and more. Tesco stores (like Asda) also have in-store pharmacies and opticians. The one aspect of Tesco which I have found significantly lets it down is ...
