Up until last year I did my son a birthday party at home and so I needed to make up party bags myself. I have always found that tesco have a good little selection of things to add to a party bag and it was there that I picked up their party bubbles. I have actually just picked some more up in preparation for my son’s 6th birthday party which I am again doing at home in May.
The mini party bubbles come in a pack of six and cost £1.50. They are actually running a promotion where party bag things are selling for three for the price of two so this is why I am being a bit organised and getting things in advance for my son’s party! In the pack of six bubbles there are two yellow packs, two green and then one pink and one blue meaning that they are mainly pretty neutral colours which I think is a good thing.
The bubbles are 1fl oz in size and fit nicely in the hand. The bottles are quite chunky in width meaning they would also be easy for a child to hold as well. On the front of the bubbles there is a label which is bright and stripy and it just says tesco party mini bubbles. The bubbles have a white screw top plastic lid to which the bubble wand is attached. The lid is of a good size but the actual wand itself is pretty small to be honest.
Inside the tub the bubble mixture comes around three quarters of the way up the tube and I like the fact that it is not too full as otherwise excitable children could very easily pour away the contents of the tub just by opening it up! Testing the bubbles I can see that providing you blow the wand quite slowly a lot of bubbles come out of the wand and I have to say I am pretty impressed by this as there are lots of bubbles for children to chase.
The bubbles are not suitable for children under three years of age but I would say this is down to there being a small wand. I am sure an adult could blow these bubbles for a child younger than three as I know my son used to love looking at and chasing bubbles before he was three years old. There is also a word of caution on the tub saying that the bubble mixture may stain so to avoid contact with clothes wherever possible. I have never known clothes to stain from bubbles but perhaps if it were to spill in a large quantity this may be the case.
I have to say that I do think these bubbles are a really good addition to a party bag for children as they are neutral and I don’t think I have ever come across a child yet who does not like bubbles! The pots are small enough not to take over a party bag too as well as being a good price and so you will have room to add other things to the bag such as sweets and of course birthday cake.
I think this is possibly my shortest review in a long time but I don’t know how much more there is actually to say about these little bubbles and so I hope I have covered everything.
