    While shopping at Tesco I picked up this chopping board for around £3 and our last one had seen better days and it needed replacing. Usually I go for wooden or glass chopping boards but as this one of the few they had available I decided I would give it a go. The chopping board is made of plastic which of course makes a hard surface to cut food up on. It is rather thick meaning it is durable and it is a good size so there is plenty of room to cut food up on which I definitely need with a family of 5 soon to be 6.     I am a huge believer in that everything in the kitchen needs to be regularly cleaned and that the work surfaces should be cleaned regularly with an antibacterial spray to make sure that the germs are contained and that they do not spread and further that necessary. Obviously when it comes to cutting up your food and preparing it you do not want to work directly on the work surface and possibly damage the area with any sharp knives that you may use.     Advantages Advantages Cheap, reasonable sizes, protect your work surfaces.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor quality plastic that marks very easily and quickly becomes hard to keep clean and hygenic.

    I bought a pack of these two chopping boards last year when we needed a couple of new chopping boards and I have to say that although it wasn’t an absolute waste of money it certainly wasn’t a good buy. I believe I paid around £2.50 for the pack, though looking at the Tesco website I can’t actually see them on there now as a set. I am quite used to plastic chopping boards and generally find them perfectly acceptable and usable in the kitchen, but the quality of these is really quite poor.
