I have been using my local Tesco store for many a year however recently I have stopped shopping there following some issues experienced when trying to return faulty goods. I have the mis-fortune to purchase a pizza that when opened (within 2 days of buying) found it to be covered in "blue furry mould". On returning it to the store I was informed that as I did not have my receipt I could not have a refund. I subsquently asked to speak to the store manager, who was completely rude and dis-missive - to a point where he walked away from me whilst I was in mid conversation. I was appalled. Despite Tesco's publishing that they will be happy to refund on any product that does not meet its usual high standards, this is not my experience. I did not even receive the courtesy of an apology and the reaction that I received when I opened the pizza was one you would expect to see if they had this experience every minute of the day. It made me physically sick to look at the pizza - it didnt seem to bother the manager at all. Knowing my rights I returned a few days later, with the said pizza, and demanded my refund, the product being faulty and thankfully managed to speak to someone more customer focused who obliged. However, my experience will mean that I will never step foot in any Tesco store again and now shop in the local Asdas

One sided, yes, but I've also found Tesco's service lacking. Agree with the posters below in that more info=better ratings, but at least you have written about your own experience.
Advantages: Clubcard, Great Value, Large Stores some 24hr, Convenient, Friendly Staff Disadvantages: Company too Big, Taking over, putting small shops out of business
