For breakfast most days I eat cereal. I like the special K ones with fruit pieces in Usually I eat mine with a yoghurt. To keep the price down I often mix a bag of special K cereal with a cheap bran flakes packet, low quantity of bran flakes to special K cereal. On a bid to save some money I have occasionally bought Tesco Special Flakes with Red Berries These come in a 375g box for £1.99 (53.1p/100g) The special K one with strawberries costs £2.69 (£0.78/100g so that’s a good saving for me.

I am not sure how many grams I pour in my bowl for breakfast but 30g has 175 calories there are 110 calories in 110 g of the Kellogg’s with strawberries cereal.

The packaging is standard cereal packaging a card box with its name and a picture of a bowlful of the cereal. Then inside is an airtight bag with the cereal enclosed.

I open my bag and store it in a storage jar (old fashioned sweetie jar)
The cereal is a mixture of toasted rice and wheat flakes with as few pieces of dried raspberry, cherry and strawberry pieces.
The cereal flakes are a light brown and the fruit is sparse, certainly does not look as plentiful and as large pieces as the picture on the front of the bowl displays.

Although the flakes are not soggy they are not an exciting flavour they are quite bland and boring.
The dried fruit that is included is ok but again not very flavoursome. This cereal has a long way to go to be as good as my usual special K cereal. As with my special K cereal I added a few bran flakes, but I would not do that again as it made the breakfast really unexciting with the special K and fruit I like a few bran flakes added as the rest of the cereal is flavoursome and a little sweet..

Generally I find the Tesco Special Flakes with Red Berries a little lack lustre not very exciting.
