...for aftersun. I found this tesco own brand aftersun in store a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised by how well it actually works. Most cheaper products, especially in the sun care ranges are usually just a fragranced milk lotion which bearly does anything. However Tesco appears to be an exception.

A fairly mild consistencey, the lotion is not as thick as some of the suntan protection lotions we have in our medicine cabinet but on the other hand this product isnt as runny as some cheap lotions and creams can be. I'd say the thickness is just runny enough for application, however when kept in the window shelf the liquid goes warmer and a bit more thin. However when stored at room temperature a satisfactory consitencey results.

Summer is here and what a scorcher it has been. No matter how much I try to cover up the kids they still manage to burn even trhough piz buin factor 30! So for the need for aftersun. I found this tesco own brand aftersun in store a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised by how well it actually works. Most cheaper products, especially in the sun care ranges are usually just a fragranced milk lotion which bearly does anything. However Tesco appears to be an exception.
Packaging: Recycled plastic bottle with a flip cap top. Colour of the bottle is a turquoisey blue and the text on the reverse is printed in black arial font.
Texture: A fairly mild consistencey, the lotion is not as thick as some of the suntan protection lotions we have in our medicine cabinet but on the other hand this product isnt as runny as some cheap lotions and creams can be. I'd say the thickness is just runny enough for application, however when kept in the window shelf the liquid goes warmer and a bit more thin. However when stored at room temperature a satisfactory consitencey results. The texture is smooth and applys easily. There is an absence of the bity, or chalky residue bits you can get - which is good as this helps sooth the skin. And the last thing you need is trying to apply an abrasive lotion to an already whinging in pain, little tyke.
Ease of application: Simple flip cap means you can squeeze, drop and run in with little fuss and difficulty. The plastic bottle also means that any spils or smudges of lotion can be easily wiped clean. It soaks into the skin very well and if kept at room temp or lower, starts to sooth sore skin straight away. The evaporation process aids the pain and the fragrance also helps keep the little ones minds from their sunburn.
Smell: Fresh and an almost juicy fragrance when applied. The aroma stays even after it has soaked in which leaves skin not only soft, soothed but also makes you feel a bit better, and thinking a little less about the sunburn pain due to the fresh and cooling fragrance.
Overall a 4 star rating for this cheaper, yet effective product from tesco. Only brought down from a 5 satr rating because of the slight greasy texture which stick to your hands after applying and requires washing hands after applications. Appart from the one minor point I would definately recommend this product to try, the smell is actually bery nice for an own brand product - very fresh, and also it leaves skin feeling very soft and is even mild enough I can use it on my 6, 8 and 9 year olds.
Advantages: Lovely smell, cools you down Disadvantages: None
...back from work with some Tesco Sun Soothing Aftersun Lotion.
The lotion comes in a light blue bottle that contains 200ml of lotion. There is also a 400ml bottle available The lid on the bottle is a flip cap and snaps firmly back in place when closed.
It sounds like good stuff stating that it contains soothing Aloe Vera and vitamin E. It is moisturising, Hypoallergenic and dermatologically tested.
This basically means that people with any skin ... ...I won't be drifting in the sun again anymore in a hurry.
