Advantages Advantages Cheap kettle, large capacity

Disadvantages Disadvantages Lid can drip boiling water onto your hands

Just 3 days before Christmas I had a bad day. I crashed my car, I put a pot on to boil with no water and the third thing to happen was that I opened the cupboard and a jar fell out onto my glass kettle smashing it and sending Boiling water and shattered glass all over the place. 3 days before Christmas was not the ideal time to suddenly have to start looking for a kettle. I happened to tell my friend who told me about the cheap tesco one at £5. She told me that it was great and did just the job which her old £40 kettle did as well. So off to tesco we went. This was when we had a nosy at the ... more

    Advantages Advantages Cheap, Basic, Functional...

Disadvantages Disadvantages At £5.89! You've got to be joking!

THE BACKGROUND: It seems a bit of an indictment of our throwaway, consumer society that I've managed to get through no fewer than three kettles in the past 2 years, without even bothering to pursue a refund, or attempting to get them repaired. Actually, perhaps it's more of an indictment of me than anything… But with kettles, and most other appliances, being so cheap to buy now and so expensive to fix, you can hardly blame me. The first of my last three kettles was a good one, stainless steel, looked smart on the bench, cost about £50. The second and third were both medium-range, cordless ... more

Advantages Advantages it is on the doorstep

Disadvantages Disadvantages it is cloned shopping

My expensive philips cordless kettle blew up. I thought of replacing it, and trawled the local shops. I decided that I could not afford over £40 for a kettle. Ideally, I wanted cordless, I was used to rotating base, but an indicator of fill would have been welcome (my old one did not have this). I looked and I looked. I saw wonderful kettles for £35-£65, but I thought: is a kettle that important? So I put off buying one (and used an ancient one that I had borrowed from my mother). While shopping in Tesco, I looked at kettles they had on offer. Although I was attracted to the stainless steel ... more

    Advantages Advantages Style and functionality

Disadvantages Disadvantages Its a bit on the noisy side

I am writing a review on the Tesco TK35B Stainless steel 360 degree Cordless Kettle. This is a retro style kettle, the type that your gran used to use straight on to the gas hob before they invented electricity and would take about half an hour to boil before a screaming whistle would pierce your eardrums. Well, the good news is it doesnt take half an hour to boil, it fits snuggly on to it power base that contains a handy little cord stowage although thats not much use if its too far away from the plug socket. The kettle body is made of stainless steel with a machined finish while the handle ... more

    Advantages Advantages Price

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not a long term investment

£5.97 - Now you can hardly complain about any electrical appliance for this price can you!! I've been through a couple of these, I've had to replace it every year, but still is a good product as it must make approx 10-20 cups of tea a day in our student house. Easy to use, you don't even burn yourself on it, I've found that most other cheap branded kettles let steam escape, so you always burn your arm or hand when pouring the water out.... but this kettle seals well around the top to stop the damage. Easy to pour without spillage, and easy to fill upm, the lid easily hinges upward. An ... more
