I have been very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the toys for the prices that they are sold at in Tesco.

They sell a fair range of toys. I find they are very definately for boys or for girls, don't do such a range of unisex toys (in my branch anyway).

I have a son, and I have bought quite a lot of his toy cars and cuddlies (when baby) from here.

The best value in my eyes is the wooden train sets. Trains/carriages are 99p each (they are the magnetic sort) and you can either buy a basic figure of eight track or a larger set that has trees, people, cows etc in.

They have a wide range of accessories like - tunnel, level crosing, ticket office/station (with sounds), platform, turntable etc. The extra's start from about £3 each and are not that expensive. You can also buy extra packs of track, both curved and straight, switching points, crossover points etc. They also have a lovely battery operated loco that stops and starts when it hits the various points. This would give Brio and Duplo a run for it's money.

The cars and vehicles that they sell are very reasonable too. They sell lots of bigger models too like AA Vans, Eddie Stobart etc.

They have some good games in too, and lots of girlie bits and pieces and sparkly things that they all love.

They have a lot of unisex baby toys too, and have major brand names too.

I used to be a stock controller at Tesco, and one of my areas that I bought for was childrens toys, and believe me, you aren't the only one that likes the train sets. When I tried to discontinue them (planogram came in with directions for a new range), there was an outrage and I had to bring them back!
