Neat Little Sucker
Advantages price, ease of use, specification
Disadvantages smallish dust capacity
This review is for the VC005 vacuum cleaner from Tesco.
I bought this vacuum for cleaning a holiday let so did not want to pay a lot of money for it. Took a trip to Tesco and saw this for £29.99 and thought it was worth a gamble and did not expect a lot
Boy was I wrong
This model is a little gem.
First Use
The room I tested it in had recently had building work done in it and was in fair old
mess. Plugged the unit in, switched on and was amazed. This thing sucks. It has 1400watts motor with variable power (suction regulator via a slider switch on the top of the unit) and it does a good job. It was easy to use and very mobile. It remained on its wheels which not all vacuums do.
I have not used the tools so can not comment on their effectiveness.
It has a cord rewind facility which works better than the one I have on a Dyson.
Dust Container
This is a bagless vacuum.
I can find no information on capacity but I reckon approx 2 litres. It is easy to detach and empty and is fitted with a dust container full indicator.
Instructions
When I read the instructions I found them clear and concise. The only criticism I have is there is no physical data like weight, size and dust capacity.
Conclusion
I am delighted with this little vacuum not just because of the price:feature ratio but also because of its performance. I consider this vacuum to be a bargain. As I have only recently acquired it I can not comment on reliability and longevity so the satisfactory grading for durability is a guess. It has 12 months warranty.

Nar Have you read my review.? I mention the HEPA filtration, and the crevice tools, I clearly state it is bagless, and it definatley has a centrifugal filter as per the user guide. It is not instead as you imply. This is what the guide says ' CLEANING THE CENTRIFUGAL FILTER, Open the front cover, lift out and empty the dust container. Pull out the centrifugal filter. Clean it by gently tapping it or wash it under running water. Push it back into place after it is clean and dry

I was in Tescos today (theyre doing a sale in the clothes section - bargains galore) the vac was also on the shelf - it is bagless - the box inside the bin comes out which you then take to a bin and dispose of, but there's NO centrifugal filter. What you do have instead is a HEPA filter which makes this a bargain vac to be considered if you have pets. By the way the cleaning brush in the flip up intergral tool section is the nozzle brush for putting on the end of the crevice tool - this means that you get added brushes to get into the cracks and corners in your home. I suspect it will come in useful to aid the clearing of dirt once the builders have gone.

In Response to Nar Thanks for the comments Nar. There is no reference to cyclonic in the manual or on the box so I did not mnetion it. Emptying it was not messy adnvery easy to acomplish.
Good review. Sounds like a Billy Bargain, especially the centrifugalling hepa doodah thingymobob, as I haven't a clue if ours has even got one.
